I pressed something on my keyboard and everything sorta turned into words instead of pictures...

I think that has something to do with your web browser, and not the site.

You get the same words appear if you hover your mouse over someone's rep-bars. It's not an easter egg.

You're having problems loading the rep bars. The text you're seeing is the alt text so people will know what they're looking at if the images never load.
