I watched the whole VP debate a little bit ago. I agreed with her almost 100% on everything. As for that video? She's just trying to show evidence of her foreign policy experience...which she has virtually none. Ok...so what? Are we talking about how she has loss for words? Maybe its about How she gets really nervous...OH MY GODZ SHE HAS NRVZ! I do believe, however, that she has the most common sense out of any other candidate I have ever seen. Period. I don't think it would be too much of a problem.

However, I swear to God....I got really sick and tired of Biden's "fairness" bullshit. This Isn't socialism. This should never be socialism. The government needs to deregulate, back the fuck away from health care...and lower taxes. Lets take from the rich and give to the poor, that way the people who earned the money get screwed and the people who don't do shit get aid.

I also love Palin's lack of governmental exposure. It hasn't made her a complete idiot yet...

However, I think this election is lose-lose.

I watched the whole VP debate a little bit ago. I agreed with her almost 100% on everything. Like what? She didn't give any definitive answers and just construed everything we already know, besides that the climate issue isn't man contributed. As for that video? She's just trying to show evidence of her foreign policy experience...which she has virtually none. Ok...so what? Are we talking about how she has loss for words? No, we're talking about her lack of knowledge on anything. Maybe its about How she gets really nervous...OH MY GODZ SHE HAS NRVZ! No, she just doesn't have experience or knowledge applicable to the role of VP. I do believe, however, that she has the most common sense out of any other candidate I have ever seen. Period. I don't think it would be too much of a problem. What?? She is a complete and total fuckup when it comes to government role and her experience as governor proves it.

However, I swear to God....I got really sick and tired of Biden's "fairness" bullshit. This Isn't socialism. This should never be socialism. The middle class doesn't want to pay for everyone's fuck-up. Both sides are pushing this "socialist" idea of the bailout, so if you want to start flinging poo, know wtf you're talking about. The government needs to deregulate, It did, look what happened to the economy back the fuck away from health care ...and lower taxes. Lets take from the rich and give to the poor, that way the people who earned the money get screwed and the people who don't do shit get aid. lol, dunno wtf you're talking about here. Neither candidate insinuated that, please stop creating hyperbole from nothing.

I also love Palin's lack of governmental exposure. It hasn't made her a complete idiot yet... How about her lack of experience? Lack of knowledge? Lack of insight? Lack of credibility? I'd rather have someone with real experience than her.

The middle class doesn't want to pay for everyone's fuck-up.
-exactly. Thats why the bail-out is a shit idea.

Both sides are pushing this "socialist" idea of the bailout, so if you want to start flinging poo, know wtf you're talking about.

-Thats not what I was talking about. I was talking about how he kept using the word fairness for his tax increase reasoning. I wasnt talking about the bailout there.

It did, look what happened to the economy
-No, thats stupid people...

"Neither candidate insinuated that, please stop creating hyperbole from nothing. "

-Uhh..what? Tax increases for the people above 250k/y? Fairness? I think they did.

lol, dunno wtf you're talking about here.

-I'm talking again about his tax increase for the above 250k/y.

How about her lack of experience? Lack of knowledge? Lack of insight? Lack of credibility? I'd rather have someone with real experience than her.

please give me a direct quote. I suppose you think that the tax break that corporations and the wealthiest would get is also unfair, correct?

-No, thats stupid people...
stupid people allowed to run rampant because of deregulation. cause and effect, get it right.

-Uhh..what? Tax increases for the people above 250k/y? Fairness? I think they did.
again, need proof. where was it said that that money was going to be given directly to the "poor"?

-Oh and Obama has enough expirience? No, I prefer to judge by character, common sense, and her logic rather than how long she's been there.
that's funny, since you're talking about Palin. Her logic? common sense? she thinks that global warming isn't man-caused or influenced! she lives in alaska and sees the effects first hand and you think she has good common sense or logic? In the year that she was governor she sent wasilla 20 million into debt. I'd think her lack of capability is a better indicator than some imaginary sense and logic. also, another point on logic and common sense, her reply to the climate crisis was 'drill baby drill' to free us from foreign dependancy, and laid out NO plan for alternative energies.

Lolchart, also fuck politics. I personally don't give a damn about any of this shit because I feel that it most likely won't effect me in any way, and if it does, I feel that there wasn't anything I could've done about it, due to the fact that I believe the presidential elections to be a complete joke. But still, to everyone in here, keep the discussion clean. Make the difference between your debating and personal opinion known. If you have something that can be backed by facts, then do so - if not, then make sure that you say that it is your opinion, not a fact. We're all capable of maintaining a civil thread here. Also, +rep for those who adhere to this.

^Props man, wholeheartadly agree here as i myself havent voted in years.

Also, i tuned in to parts of that debate and honestly, i dont see what all this fuss is about. this is pretty much standart politics-rhetoric. Theres no way any politician can make any concrete speech as this whole farce that we call democracy is based on vagueness, and void but effective propaganda -not lies but fragmented bits of thruth- thats supposed to tuck on our emotional strings. I suggest reading some books on mass psychology like le bon or barnais. Its all in there.

-I'm talking again about his tax increase for the above 250k/y.

This not some radical idea born of socialism and the industrial age. It's a classical idea bounded to democracy and out-dating Pericles: There is no wealth without civilization.

You cannot be a successful entrepreneur without people purchasing your products and supporting your company; in the absence of society your tact for marketing is irrelevant, and thus you owe back to the society a portion of your fortune for the maintenance of its laws and statutes so as to allow future citizens to share in the opportunity that you grasped.

It's an extremely simple concept, and this is all without going so far as to inform you that the notion that the rich have all earned their money and the poor are simply impoverished because of what they have failed to do for themselves is completely and inexorably wrong, which it is.

The end to a top-heavy society is inevitable and unavoidable. The precedents are both numerous and applicable. We are presented, however, with options for closing the wealth gap: It's a choice between building a voting block for Barack Obama now, or facing a future where your laid-off neighbor builds bombs in his basement.

She's more than that...

She's a symbol of everything that is wrong with the modern United States, a new low in reptilian villainy, the ultimate cynical masterwork of puppeteers like Karl Rove, but more than that, she is a horrifying symbol of how little we ask for in return for the total surrender of our political power.

Not only is Sarah Palin a fraud, she's the tawdriest, most half-assed fraud imaginable, 20 floors below the lowest common denominator, a character too dumb even for daytime TV; a cross-eyed political neophyte just two years removed from running a town smaller than the bleacher section at Fenway Park.

The most obviously unqualified, puffed-up dimwit with primitive religious beliefs rifle-toting raging baby-making furnace of middle-class ambition, serially pregnant moose killer, doomed-to-fail joke of a Bible-thumping buffoon who thinks God lobbies for oil pipelines and completely without shame and utterly full of shit.

the small-town girl with just enough looks and a defiantly incurious mind who thinks the PTA minutes are Holy Writ, who had to be educated as to the fact that the Constitution did not exactly envision government executives firing librarians.

Here's what Sarah Palin represents: being a fat fucking pig who pins "Country First" buttons on his man titties and chants "U-S-A! U-S-A!" at the top of his lungs while his kids live off credit cards and Saudis buy up all the mortgages in Kansas.

Conservatives don't seem to realize that change is constant, yes some traditions should held firm, like keeping a strong family and family gatherings during holidays, simple things like these. Everything else though is going to be phased out the more tolerant our society becomes. To be quite honest, the majority of Conservatives need to wake up to this reality and just step aside and let the next generation take over. We'll already have plenty of problems to clean up when they do eventually get phased out, it would be best to do it now to save any further trouble.

I am a practicing Christian and I find that Gay Marriage is wrong, my basis, Sodahm and Gomorah. I don't think that any church or temple should allow it. On the other hand, I really don't care if a gay couple becomes partners through the state, as long as they don't try to pull off a Chuck and Larry or try to screw an insurance company. I do not think acceptance has anything to do with the politicians against gay marriage, they just want the bible-thumpers vote.

On a more related point to the thread, is gay marrige under Sarah Palins umbrella of understanding?

Sarah Palin is the one reason why I won't vote Republican this year (granted, I am very liberal, but that's beside the point.)
While I don't truly mind McCain all that much, in terms of his policies, I am disappointed in his behavior at some of his interviews/debates/rallies, and obviously, deeply disturbed by his choice of a Vice Presidential candidate.
Do I think she's smart? No. Do I think she's competent? No. Do I think she helps McCain out at all? No.
As it has been shown, she is split with McCain on a lot if big issues, and she is very much on the side of Christianity when it comes to gay marriage, stem cell research, and abortion (fine for her, but let me make the choice, thank you very much.)
And of course, I honestly believe that her initial popularity was simply because of her good looks and her "cutsie" personality.
Personally, I find her persona to be repulsive. She is a radical evangelist masquerading as a "Down home soccer mom darn it."

I'm sorry, I just don't think the country will make it if she is elected into a high position of power. And if McCain dies, and we get her as President? God save me I may just leave the country.

Well I am a practicing Atheist and I find that your religion is wrong. The fact that it discriminates against homosexuals by removing their right to marry is ridiculous, because the only actual difference between homosexuals and heterosexuals is the hormone balance in the brain. If your god would love someone less because of something that trivial, your god is not god.

I think Sarah Palin is amazing because she's managed to prove to me there is somebody in the world more annoying than Rachel Ray.

And then the scary part comes in, the people who write her speeches have no objection to quoting right from a vicious anti-Semite (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westbrook_Pegler). I mean, fucking, WESTBROOK PEGLER? The man was insane, a fascist, and thought that labor unions were literally the end of organized society.

I also don't know how people can honestly think they can make community organizing sound bad. For fuck's sake, that has a complete line-up of positive connotations, not to mention it logically follows that organized communities have decided through careful thought who to vote for to benefit themselves and others, they are informed and determined; the Republican ticket has taken a stance against democracy...openly.

Most Democratic candidates don't make it plainly obvious that their judgment is HEAVILY influence by their religion or at least they try not too. Our government is SUPPOSED to be a separation of church and state, meaning the church isn't supposed to affect judgment either. Politicians are SUPPOSED to approach all decisions unbiased without their religion interfering. I'm terribly sorry if your party does not follow this THE LEAST FUCKING LITTLE BIT.

As evident by Mrs. Palin herself, the Christian aspect of this election is prominent, depicting an election of Obama as essentially "doomsday," and I quote this:

"A 6-3 liberal majority Supreme Court that results in rulings like one making gay marriage the law of the land and another forcing the Boy Scouts to "hire homosexual scoutmasters and allow them to sleep in tents with young boys." (In the imagined scenario, The Boy Scouts choose to disband rather than obey)."

I see separation of church and state in full effect here:suicide:

I said it was for another thread lol nvm then about that. Christans are supposed to preach against what they believe is wrong and not accept it. It is only when people know it's wrong yet they do it anyways is when it's okay to let them be. It's not forcing people to follow our rules but letting them know we won't accept those behaviors as OKAY. The same applies for Gay Marriage. Bull. And you know it. So even if I believe through my religion that Abortion is murder does that mean I am to shove it aside and vote that it's okay to get an abortion? You might as well be debating whether or not all the people in government should be atheists only.

To be quite honest, the Christian mindset is terribly closed-minded; at least the American one. Why do Christians even have a problem with Gay marriage? An outdated verse in the Bible? As a (former) Christian, even I can't comprehend why it's a bad thing. It's completely nonsensical to want to deny somebody that right, and to argue against it borders on - scratch that - IS idiocy. Usually I'm all for treating others with differing opinions equally and fairly with insulting, but god damn, you have to be fucking retarded to oppose it.

Born bicurious, MAYBE wanted to stick my dick in the guy next to me. :downs:

I said it was for another thread lol nvm then about that. Christans are supposed to preach against what they believe is wrong and not accept it. It is only when people know it's wrong yet they do it anyways is when it's okay to let them be. It's not forcing people to follow our rules but letting them know we won't accept those behaviors as OKAY. The same applies for Gay Marriage. It's (in my opinion) a big deal over little more than financial benefits.
Sorry but I was under the impression that the core values of any religion let alone Christianity included tolerance of others no matter their beliefs, possessions, etc.

I believe the title says "Foreign RELATION Experience" and not "RELIGION."

Stow the religious crap before I start handing out ban and cheese sandwiches. God damn it, people, we've been down this road before and you should know better.

P.S.: This topic has served it's purpose. Yes, Palin is a crackpot. We know.
