My November entry. It's clearly not finished, but I just wanted to get this thread up. The long spike is a needle. I haven't modeled anything in months, go easy on me. :/

Handle size/other general crappiness will be fixed. Still give me crit though.

Looks like a cool piece that would be displayed or something... nothing that would be actually used in combat. Not saying it's bad... just saying...

It'd hurt like fuck if that stabbed you.

But again, the problem is getting it back out

It shouldn't be that hard. I trashed the idea of giving the blades ridges for that reason. Either way though, I know it's incredibly impractical, but I'm a HORRIBLE concept artist, so I'm glad it turned out as good as it did.

Snaf: Is this to big to be counted as a knife? Is the deadline tonight?

I say go with the design in the first render, just shorten everything and make it more compact. The other designs just look like a fantasy corkscrew. Though the last one seems a little more useful since you can slice with it on all sides.

I'm also interested in how you did the handle, I wouldn't even know where to start making something like that.

I really like it Llama. The idea is pretty neat.

Reminds me of a Fiery Dragon Sword.

Well, after an ungodly about of time tweaking settings in vray, I still managed to make it look like shit...

The green ring is supposed to look like a glass chamber filled with poison, but I could never get it to look right.

it doesn't really look like a weapon as much as a torch or something decorative.

Hmmm i'm still trying to see how it would work out... Do you twist it when you stab someone?

Idk, it's just an impractical video game weapon. My only real concern was making it look cool.

Ceremonial weapon. Many cultures have had weapons for pure ceremonial purposes.

Hell even in gundam seed there were GiNN's that were gold plated and engraved all over the mobile suit, never designed for combat. Just to look pretty.
