It has been proved many times that the Earth is round, as long as all the other planets. Why would NASA spend so much time and waste so much money to create a useless conspiracy? Those people in that forum should take a flight around the world to see that they'll just end up at the same spot where they began.

March 13th, 2007, 01:51 PM
lol actually if u look at it from space, it still looks like a dish.
if you look at a perfectly round object, all you can see is one half of it. unless you have 360°/god vision, (meaning you can see all of it at the same time) the perfectly round object "ball" can possibly be just a round shaped dish.
wtf! those tards got a point!

Hotrod
March 13th, 2007, 01:55 PM
Yes, but their point has been proven wrong. So, we all agree that the Earth is round, that is something we all knew since we entered school. Some people just don't accept the fact that what has been believed by scientists 100 years ago is wrong.

EDIT :Sorry i meant 1000 years.

Uh, what? People have known the Earth is spherical for around 2500 years.

100 years ago isn't really that far away. We still use Newtonian (1600s) principles to plot trajectories for spacecraft.

That was hilarious. That just made my day.

"We obviously pose a intelligent debate on how the world is flat because we have some obscure crack-head scientist who wrote a book about it, we claimed every conspiracy theory known to man, and then we also claim that we know every factual thing there is to "keeping the truth hidden" by knowing the man power of each country in protecting the "ice shields" because...well, because I have nothing fucking better to do on a Sunday afternoon."

Q: "Please explain sunrises/sunsets."

A: It's a perspective effect. Really, the sun is just getting farther away; it looks like it disappears because everything gets smaller and eventually disappears as it gets farther away.

Q: "Why are other celestial bodies round but not the Earth?"

A: When you look at these celestial bodies, even with a telescope, they're entirely two-dimensional.

Q: "What about satellites? How do they orbit the Earth?"

A1: They don't, satellite signals come from radio towers.

lol...i laugh at these..

I find their arguments (ignoring the conspiracy crap and all that) fascinating. It's wrong, of course, but it's still fascinating. I am curious about how the flat Earth theory could explain how one sees different stars and constellations in different regions (hemispheres) of the Earth. I am also curious about how they can explain how on their maps continents such as South America and Africa are so much larger than they actually are, or how it's possible to fly from South America to Australia by flying over Antarctica, or a whole lot of other crap that's not worth mentioning because there are more than enough reasons already to show the flat Earth theory is wrong.

Lol but seriously, there's no harm in it, and I say let them have their fun. After all, I personally don't have conclusive proof that the word is round- only what evidence people have shown me. The only evidence most of us can present is evidence given to us by others- others obviously in on the conspiracy, of course. Then again, I don't have any evidence to prove that the entire universe isn't just a figment of my imagination, and in reality nothing exists except my mind which chooses to imagine you all.

Exactly, the things that can be listed as "scientifically proven" run the gamut from having abundant to absolutely no hard data. Still, believing the Earth is flat... They're got some interesting ideas but honestly I think it's just a ploy for attention, like most other conspiracy nuts.

People have ranted for centuries about what's scientifically proven, the Roman Catholic church hired people to announce the Earth as the center of the universe being "scientifically proven". In my eyes, someone SAYING things are scientifically proven doesn't say shit. Actually having the proof, does.

It couldn't be scientifically proven if they didn't have any proof, even if they hired people to say that it was. We now have proof that the Earth is round, and not flat, so we can stop arguing about this.
