I'd do it if I could drive/had a nice car.

A McLaren F1 LM even raced one year.

Thoughts? Would you do it? What kind of car would you use?

I'd do a race like this...in a video game. The car I would use would be one of the BMW "M" models or an Aston Martin DBS, once again virtual cars in video games. If I could afford a car like those featured, I would never want to risk using it in a real-life race. I sound a bit uncool, but I just find it more practical. Btw, it was kinda funny in the first video how they just raced past the highway patrol lol.

It's definitely fun to watch though.

computer or console + steering wheel/pedals accessory + game = more within my budget

Kalub, you prefer the older V8 powered E39 M5? Strange, most people I know prefer the current E60 M5 with its V10.

Personally, I'd either use the McLaren F1:

or the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo:

Raw American V8 powa.

Shit, I just like how he turn a luxury car into an interceptor, and the tech he has in it is flippin' sweet.

Unlike 007, I'll pester Q to give it armor and weapons, then I'm guaranteed a victory in the Gumball 3000.

I thought it was awesome, I wouldn't do it, but I'd like to see it done in a Lamborghini :)

Hmm this ones a toughie, so many incredible cars to choose from. It'd have to be a combination of style. speed and comfort. So probably as Aston or a Lambo, even thought I love the Ferrari F430.

Actually f that, Ferrari F430 challenge :D

I've been on some of the roads the gunballers use, and they are incredible, scenery is amazing, so yeah if I had a decent car and the money to do it, I would race in the gumball :)

I wanna go to the start of the race this year, see all the amazing cars.

Europe Gumball > US Gumball

Btw saw the car in your avatar xet parted in a car part today, very nice :D

Ferrari 430 Scuderia*

There is no definite US or European (and sometimes even Asian) Gumball, it takes place in different places every year.

The more I find out about this, the more expensive it gets. First you need the car, and then there's a $120k entry fee. Damn.

I'd race it.

In my fighter jet (I kid Xet, I kid).

No really, I'd race it in pretty much anything that went fast and had a comfortable interior. And if I had enough money to pay for the three or four speeding tickets I would no doubt end up getting.

I'd do it, provided I had an F1, the skill to drive it, and I had a sponsor who reimbursed all my speeding tickets :v:

They give them 7 days to drive the 3000 miles?

It took me 2 days to go 1500... so I wonder how far they actually go each day... or if it only lasts three days or whatever....

I raced against some sort of lexus on the Interstate, I was in my Chevy S10 pickup with 490,000 miles on it (at the time) I had to finally turn off of the interstate at my exit, but.. I was going about 90 (it was an S10... what do you expect the spedometer stops at 90... so... yea) the whole way.... it was only about a 35-40 mile drive.... but I got there in about 25 minutes.

I ended up having to go onto the shoulder to pass a few cars, and when it came time to part ways I was ahead of him, he tipped his hat at me and we parted ways, never to see each other again.

EDIT: So I was looking up why they give them 7 days for it... and it's because it's not a race, it's a rally.
