they're putting on a protest but it's severely messing up sigs.

just ignore it for a day or 2?

Would a temporary wordfilter work (imageshack -> imagesuck) for the links? Or would it only affect posts after the wordfilter went into effect?

I used to love imageshack, it used to be so bloat free. I used to recommend it to everyone. Then I used tinypic again the other day and the upload speed was 20x faster.
