View Full Version : Graphics Card Issue [Yellow Tint]

This randomly happened some months ago. My graphics card is fine when I'm using the desktop or the browser. It's only when I load games does this weird yellow tint appear. Halo, Sims, Need for Speed. It does it for all of them. I don't know what's going on. Here's my specs:

Windows XP SP2
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual
Sapphire RADEON X1600 Pro

I'm hoping you know what's wrong, or can at least suggest something. Here's some screencaps. It was a Halo UI I was working on a year ago so I took pictures of it:

And here's my desktop. See, no color problems:

So, can anyone help? +rep to whoever can.

You might want to check to see if your video card is overheating at all, and how old is the card?
I would've said that it could be your wire, but thats not true because it shows up with messed colors in a screenshot.

Let it happen again and when it does, alt-tab to your desktop and see if it's still there...

Are your drivers up to date? Check the graphics card connections within the computer, make sure nothing is loose or not in correctly.

Also, thats a sexi UI and what widgets are you using for XP? (As in what program obviously)

also, this happened to my bro's card 9800 All In Wonder (back when it was the best card) (except with pink) when it fried itself

It says the temperature of the card is 65 C. Not sure if that's overheating but compared to my average HD temperature (70 C) it doesn't seem that bad.

There is no yellow tint on the desktop when I minimize. I've been using windowed mode and haven't noticed anything.

I've had this problem for a while now. Probably since the beginning of 2009. I just gave up on PC games for a while so I have no idea if I installed anything new before the problem actually began.

Well I checked and there was a new update of the driver. It wasn't there a few months ago the first time I checked. Anyway, now my driver said it was updated from 2007 to 02/2009. Problem still exists.

Thanks. Yeah, the UI is pretty nice. I was working on it last year but then something became corrupted and I gave up. It's not finished, but you can see the progress/rest of the previews here (http://gamerkd17.blogspot.com/2008/07/halo-3-user-interface.html).

The widgets you see is Rainlendar (http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php). My brother also has something called Rainmeter (http://www.rainmeter.net/) which is like Rainlendar but has clocks, weather, news, and music player widgets.

Was it with the computer the entire time, or just with games like me?

At first it was just with games, and later plagued the whole comp. Eventually the comp stopped working and had to get a new video card.

Looks more like a monitor issue than a graphics card issue to me...looks like one of the colours isn't displaying properly anymore. Go into drivers and tweak it, or on the monitor directly.

It's not the monitor ffs. It doesn't do any rendering, jeez. -___________________-

I don't even know if that could be a hardware issue, since it would just display that way on the screen, not in a picture.

It's most likely something to do with the driver COLOR CORRECTION settings. Open up the ATI Catalyst Control Center and just look for some area with color profiles and stuff in it. That's what's going crazy.
