These prices for DDR2 800 2x2GB are ridiculous. I expected them to be in the $40-$50 range like they used to be. :saddowns: What happened?? What was the reason for those price cuts and does anyone know when or if this will happen again?

DDR2 was cheap because it was abundant, market was in its prime, and DDR3 was on its way in. Now DDR3 is in, is now pretty cheap, and DDR2 is legacy territory now...welcome to the Legacy party.

2gb of ddr2 800 is ~$45. That's the same price it was like a year ago.

Cojafoji: He's looking for 2x2GB, where the prices have actually increased.

Yeah, upon putting in some :effort: and looking at prices on NewEgg, I don't see what the fuss is. Yeah, the prices have jumped from $50 for 2x 2GB, you can still find it for cheap, as long as you are willing to use rebates. Example. Wait until Thanksgiving. Prices were down to $20 for 4 GB last year.
