Anyone have a AMD dual-core 2.7+ gHz proc and mobo they want to sell me because they upgraded their system and now have it sitting around, whilst not making money from it? :iamafag:

I'm a cheap bastard though so... watch yourself

Or, you can buy one for new for around those prices. AMD CPUs are dirt cheap right now.

Assuming he wants an AM2 dual core, and not a Socket 939. The latter are mad expensive.

I was just now, going to buy these:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104072 (Ram)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.263449 (Mobo&CPU COMBO!)

Until I saw the ebay is my friend post. Should I wait and get the ebay board and processor or buy from newegg?

Get the Newegg, because it's more reliable, and it's an Athlon II X2, which means it's faster.

Fast enough to make up the price difference?

There's no "Buy it Now" button, so you can't assume that is the final price. Having said that, I think the extra speed gained from the Athlon II and the DDR3 combined with the upgrade potential (it is socket AM3) and the assurance gained from a NewEgg order is well worth the current price difference.

For the love of god get this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103680) if you're gonna buy an AMD dual core, I know you're not wanting to spend a lot but that Athlon combo is only -$10.00 anyway.

Phenom II so much better than Athlon.

rook will soon
family will get it actually. :ugh:

Read This Now. (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/athlon-l3-cache,2416-9.html)

Stick with the combo, Kalub. There isn't much advantage to be had with the L3 cache when we're dealing with dual-core CPUs. Yeah, that Phenom II is a Black Edition, but you can crank the Athlon II up to the same speed as the stock Phenom II X2 550 at the very least, and probably more.

I already ordered so... too late to change my mind. And this new stuff will be better than my old machine anyways.

Core 2 Duo e6400
asrock vsta 775
2gigs corsair 184pin value ram

And I've heard you can overclock the AMD proc like a minibeast

You know you're probably going to have to run a Windows repair from the disk or reformat when you swap motherboards, right?

Just checking...
