My joy is Soooooooo big ! Guys, it's here afterall, my 4 years map dream finally came to reality. Hope you will enjoy it and make it a big success. it's not a whole new map for those who're used to V1 but it's a big update that keeps the good V1 sides, correct many problems, adds tons of new paths and shape changes, new strategic sturctures + new "panic" Doors and shileds that will spice up the game. And off course I tried to improve the design as much as possible. Also strategic places are now named to help you find your way and become like meeting places. There's so many new stuff... you'll see by yourself what changed since V1.

4 years since I started this update... Dam, I never thought it would have taken so much time...

What took so long? Here is the list :

Modeling / remodeling in an innovative way in terms of gameplay and design (like 1 and a half year) + lots of remodelings as shortcuts were found, til some month ago, so remodeling never really stoped + I couldn't help myself adding new ideas and stuff all along the process.
I spent like 4 month + plenty of time after that to remodel the stuff to turn the poly number down and simplificate the design to help removing the big clipping problem, nightmare work !
Don't remember how much time I spent on texturing and deal with UVW stuff.. it has been another nightmare.
As I don't use HEK stuff, it took much more time to get any final result cause I had to make tons of schemes for my partners to do the work... doing this way makes the development process like 2 or 3 times more important.
Dealing with my partners disponiblity, also sometimes I was with no partners anymore lol, this resulted in big looses of time... this way the project have been sleeping for several month... without speaking of the time we lost almost all the tags... this slowed everything for some time also.
Some big works on my partners side have taken time too, some times things have been done the wrong way and others been redoing and redoing things : ATV, Custom hog Skinning, pinup implementations, musics, Portals (so many guys made and remade them), biped anims, Lights, Scripting off course, etc...
Also, I think the map is so complex that making everything work together have been a real challenge and took time to be made. It has been a special work for a special map... I got like 150 builds from my diferent partners since the start of the project. I let you imagine all the test and fix it requiered...

Anyway, I want to deeply thank my last and biggest partner Inferno, he made a wonderfull Job, without his skills and work, the map would still be in "work in progress state" today, that's for sure. Thank you so much man for all you did (see the credits) and most of all for making these dam doors and shileds work with your magic scripts (with some =CE= Chris help sometimes, thanks to you too man); also for making the random teleporters work so fine... these were real challenges and you made them work.
Also Deep thank to TheFieryscythe for his work on portals that fixed the clipping problem. It seemed impossible... he never gave up. Also for his work on so many lightmap versions.

Well, its been one hell of a trip guys, cant believe its been 4 years, it felt like a long time but dang 4 years, I'm pretty sure it has been worth it.

Congrats to Inferno fixing the kinks, I recently thought it might have been a too big project, but you prevailed and I commend you for that.

It's been a roller coaster Yoyo, I remember testing the early versions of v1 with you and rams, great times, sadly v2 rams and I werent testing as much but now its out, we should all get together again :D

Rams is gonna have a heart attack when he finds out its been released :D

and to be honest i thought this shit would never be done.
When I joined back in 2006 I though Yoyorast v1 was awesome becuase it had great gameplay, and was alot different then your everyday normal map.

Now its been almost 4 years since I joined, and v2 has been released. Really excited. All the beta's I played were amazing, and still held that classic yoyorast feel. The new stuff like the doors and names were a great idea aswell, and adding the banshee was a pretty cool too. The mongoose is awesomelly revamped from the first one. I can see alot of hard work that went into this to make this map awesome.

It's amazing how you guys turned a map that is on an island smaller then Death Island (correct me if that is wrong) into one of the largest maps in Halo CE.

And do all of that without spreading out the action too much.

You deserve the positive rep bombs you guys are about to receive.

About time.

Congratulations on finally finishing it, however some stuff I would like to point out.

There's an issue that locks up the game for a few seconds at a time that happens VERY OFTEN. It makes the game unplayable when it happens.

Second, the loading screen still says yoyov2 beta. gg inferno you horrible mapper~

One of the warthogs in the main warthog base is sticking into the ground a little bit. just bad placement in sapien, not a big deal.
The mongoose passenger seat says "gunner seat". I guess its okay but it should say passenger.

Also, is somebody making a yoyoV2 UI? If not then I'd like to have a go at it (worked on the V1 ui with flying stone), perhaps with the DHUI menu?

It's a rare thing that happens. Just quit and re-join.

It's impossible to completely fix that but we did our best to keep it from happening.

If you're talking about the golden sniper, it really shouldn't have been put on in the first place, since it counts as a different weapon than the regular sniper, thus allowing a player to fire four shots with it, then switch to their regular sniper and fire four more immediately.

If you're talking about the counter-Banshee Spartan Laser or the Scorpion, then they're awesome.

If you're talking about anything else, I haven't caught it yet.

Haha. I wouldn't put it that drastically. I remember that day, and at the time it was quite exciting. Unless I'm mistaken, wasn't Coldsnap one of, if not the most advanced maps released up until Yoyo v2? It had vehicle teleportaion, pelican scripts, and all sorts of little gadgets. I can't remember another map being that complex between that and Yoyo v2.

Doesn't matter, no one is smart enough to figure out how to properly fix the doors and stuff from a rip. And I would thinking something wouldn't rip right or the scripts would mess up. I've seen the tags folder for yoyo v2, stuff is all over the place.

Also, while it's nice to see this released and all, the aforementioned fps hiccups make it so unplayable on a far too often basis.

All the shit running in the background is ridiculous. Recompile this without any of the doors, scripts, etc, everything that halo wasn't supposed to have in it's engine, it's annoying as fuck (rarely syncs too), and takes away a great deal from the quality of the map.

The doors sync most of the time, and even when they get out of sync, the way the script is set up, it will go back into sync quite fast. My clan's server has been running it since it's release and it is yet to have crashed. Also, most of the scripts are server only, so as a client there isn't really that many running.

Side note: There are 1402 files in the yoyo v2 folder in the map. Ripping the map would be quite a fun task.

My FPS is pretty consistent, but I get blips of 2-3 FPS. A few people on a couple of the servers I used complained about this.

But otherwise the FPS hovers around the 60 mark. (I've turned on some rendering option that keeps my FPS down to about 100 on BG so that my graphics card doesn't overheat)
