So I am hoping that some people here buy this game for the PC, because I NEED people to play some co-op with and get awesome loot. Just get the PC version, the graphics are apparently much better than its console counterparts (if you have a good rig).

add me on steam if you don't already have me on there.

Steam ID: random846

I dunno. It seems a like a Fallout 3 wannabe. I'm loathe to play any other game of an apocalyptic theme because Fallout 3 was such a great game.

I'll be getting it when it comes out, hoping to get the 4 pack for my friends too.

I wouldn't call it a wannabe since Borderlands was in development well before fallout 3 came out. And the theme isn't apocalyptic, its more about a barely colonized planet which is barren except for some mystical vault full of awesome stuff. From the previews and reviews its more balanced in the elements of a shooter and an RPG. Unlike Fallout 3 which was seen more as a RPG with some shooter influences.

Its really just a different approach to making a shooter rpg, Bethesda's specialty was RPGs while Gearbox's is FPSs. They are both cut from the same cloth, but fallout is cut from the right side and borderlands is cut from the left.

Hmm, that does sound interesting. However, even though it's been in development longer, Fallout 3 had been out for a good while and they may have pulled ideas from it. That wouldn't drive me away form the game though. I don't like the idea of spending as much time on a game like this as Fallout 3. Since you say this has less RPG elements, I might check it out.

It has RPG elements such as combat skills and such, but the skills don't seem to be necessary to kill things.

My friends and I are probably pooling for it once we find our last player, and when I get my rigged back up and running.

Add me on steam if you like, it should be in my bio.

After reading some early reviews, sounds like it should be good fun. I'll probably nab it off Steam once it's available on the 26th.

Yes.

I'm getting both versions (eventually), but the PC one won't exactly be playable for me yet...I don't have Live, so I am getting the PC one when I get my uber laptop next year for co-op.

I decided to go ahead and give in and pre-purchase it off Steam. Sounds pretty good to me.

from the screen shots it looks like a mix between fallout, halo and a comic book?

this may be good...

I'm getting the non-steam version today. The game has the idea that there will always be a weapon that suits you. If anyone is getting the non-steam version then post your game spy names.

We shot these one things in the face like 20 times and it didn't hit them, and it didn't make them attack. It was from a distance, but I had hit things farther off than that before (I'm a hunter). Then later they ran in and killed us. Seemed like a bug or something, but idk.

Other than that it's fun.

damn americans :maddowns:

i still have to wait 3 days to play it.
this is silly, it's online distribution, it doesnt make any sense to delay it just to be on par with retailers.

heck, i didn't pre-order so i could play a week later :/

Post your gamespy ids.
I haven't used gamespy in years so I have to use my old account name.

In the non-steam version seems pretty tuff to connect to players. Not many people know how to forward ports.

Clocked this by myself (no point playing with 300 ping :\). It was fun, although I quickly leveled up faster than the quests available, so when I went to do them they were way too easy (trivial).
