Ever feel like having a 1v1 with someone, but none of the default maps are really appropriate? Starting this post off with the ultimate in competitive 1v1/2v2 maps, Stormblade!

If you downloaded my first forge variant, you might notice that this one is pretty similar. Stormblade is in fact a complete redesign of Thundercube in the Sandbox crypt, with the design and layout fine tuned through much playtesting, and support for all gametypes. Very fun for 1v1s, 2v2s, or even 3-4 player FFA, especially on KOTH.

Next up is Sever's brainchild, Overload!

The map is essentially an idealized version of The Pit. All the weapon layout has been completely redone and rebalanced from the ground up, and various mechanisms are in place to ensure greatly increased mobility over the standard version.

-----------------------------

Finally we have a map/game variant combo, Heavy King. The gameplay is hard to describe to someone who's never tried it, but it's basically King of the Hill with rockets, hammers, and lots of overshields.

Comes in a file set with two maps specifically designed and tailored for the gametype. Makes a great party game.

With that, please download and rate some of these! I'd like to get a Modacity gamenight going again sometime soon, if anyone wants to discuss a date/time. It'd also be cool to see some of these pop up in Bungie Favorites or even Matchmaking, so again be sure to rate.

Nice maps, I'll have to try these out some time.

Hm...I like overloads gameplay, but its a little hectic.

Of course, we play full 16 :/

Overload feels hectic at first, but once you get into the groove of it, you realize that everything is placed just so for a reason. Player mobility is vastly increased, not only by the intuitive, easy-to-learn teleporter network, but also by the large amount of steps and platforms that we've added, not to mention the gravity lifts. Basically, the whole front end (towers and ops center) of the map goes in fluid cycles of combat, thus greatly reducing camping in those areas. That isn't to say that it's impossible to camp on Overload - both Snipers have been moved to the back end (formerly Shotgun spawn) along with a Laser now placed in the narrow hallway (yes, it actually works well on the map, thank you very much), thus making the back end quite campable, as long as you watch your flanks and fear the pink mist (the Needlers still spawn there as well).

But eys, it would get quite overloaded with 16 people - the map is designed for 2-6, but can still work well with up to 8.

I played a few rounds on overload in first hour. It went well and it was no where near as hectic as it was with the grenade spamming idiots of last night. It was pretty good. Have yet to try the other one yet :/ sry

I've played all of these previously; they're all delicious. Where the shit is Brute King, though?
