So I got windows 7

And I decide to install the good ol' halo 2 vista. But when I try and load up the server list, no servers show up! Surely, I know it was really bad, but nobody's playing?! Or is something wrong with my 7 or halo?

there are servers alright. Around 50 of them. and players. You just get a error , meaning you cant connect to live, and you do not get any of the server, so go into a private match for maybe a min and play around a little,and then check again. And if that doesnt work, just restart the game and try agian.

I have Win7 too, and when I try to go online it says Online gaming blocked WTF??!!

Sometimes the game just bugs and doesn't deliver any servers. Try again in a few hours, or try restarting the game a few times.

This issue happens on Vista, Server 2008 and 7.

Funny thing is that this started after a Live update, yet another in a long line of Live updates that fails to deliver anything but fail itself.

As stated, start your own game for a few minutes then check the list, it usually populates by then.

that's a glitch with halo 2 itself
just wait a couple of minutes or seconds
