I need 2 or 3 fucking textures painted and I'm sick of waiting on them. Mobster or Jean-Luc or someone needs to PM me or some shit so I can fucking release these maps.

I'm patching them up right now so they will be ready for release when I get the textures.

I want them done. I really really want them done. I want to be done with Halo CE once and for all and I have to get these maps out before I can be.

Delta Lake

Terrain is unwrapped by needs a texture. Probably 1024x1024 or 2048x2048. There is a example in there of the halo 2 texture.

This texture is for high ground. I painted it and it is the shittiest texture ever made. Needs to be redone.

I just finished the new glass texture for omega. It turned out fine so that's not a problem.

Everything but script, because i've never needed it. It would take me like 15 years for 11 maps though....

The biggest MP map pack for Halo. Ever.

Been working on it since I was like 13. Every map in it has gone through hundreds of versions and tests and I've reverted the tag set twice. Big shit.

Still working on it, the canopy is the result of about 2 hours of playing with colors and filters, the beach a result of about 15 minutes of playing with colors and filters. The beach is the part I am currently working on.
Once I'm done with the beach, I'll put less-dense areas of foliage scattered about.

The canopy, IMO, doesn't seem dense enough (I don't think it appears that there is any depth at all), and the beach area needs some work, although I am totally clueless on what Inferno wants me to do there. This is Harbinger, right? So where's the Harbinger?

Also, where should I go with this from here? Scrap it and start over?

There is a water plane over the middle "pit". Sorry I didn't include that because the models are separated (since I made the rar public I didn't include the BSP).

I can send it over. But I would suggest working on the mountains sides. Add some detail like cliffs or some shit. IDK look at some google images of mountains or open up halo 2/halo 3.

I like the general canopy so far. Keep it up.

Yes, I was considering cliffs, but I wasn't sure what exactly to do.

At this resolution, I might as well add tiny little details, like scattering some flowers in the grass I have strewn about.
And yes, I do indeed have grass strewn about. It's just hidden by the canopy, lol.

1. Look at the wire frame layout I put in the folder.
2. Overlay it on the texture your painting.
3. Compare the wire frame with the model.
4. Paint cliffs accordingly.
5. ???
6. PROFIT!

That's what I would do at least. I'm no texture artist though.

this is my old one

I know it looks pretty shitty, but this was for the UI version jcap and I talked about where the background would be tinted blue and filtered so it didn't matter much what the ground map looked like. However, these colours, when compared to the reference screenshots I was using, look pretty close so I would sample mine for some of the overall texture variance and colour.

For something like this map and not a silhouetted UI, you're obviously going to need a higher resolution map and much more attention to detail.

I'm going to add that you need to make a canopy detail map, not try to add it to the base texture like you are now (if that's what those scraggly lines are).

Maybe someone who actually knows what they're doing will make it worth a shit - though then they'd be able to make something from scratch. Or maybe you've already got someone working on that and I'm just posting feces in .tif form to no real purpose - oh well.

I wondered why everything in the map was plastered with Ripped Zteam weapons and sadly attempted CMT HUD. The worse part is that the lights (which are blank and drive me insane) and the Elite Hologram weren't finished looking at the map. Damn leakers. :gonk:

Just open the gbxmodel and create a new material for every shader. The only thing you need to make sure of is the same name. Attach the entire model together to 1 object, then use the region select or whatever its called in editable mesh to select certain parts. Apply the appropriate material to it by looking through sapien at the same time to see where what goes. Its really not that hard :smith:. By the way, this can be a much easier process by unslecting the import materials button when importing, then doing what I said.

The only thing it might not import is #sun, I've had countless origional Halo skys do that, so I suggest making your own when doing so, and making your own sun.lens_flare tag.

...What is there to guess about? You put the bitmaps on their materials in 3ds, you change the material index of each region until it looks right. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

I can fix the material ID's on a regular model but skys are complex. And 3ds 8 has problems with models that size.

Ran some low quality lights on delta lake. I'm working on a nice shader for the back ground terrain. (thanks to english mobster) After that I'll attempt to re material the sky and get it lined up with the sun. And then final lightmaps.

After that It's a straight shot to release.
