This single player map takes place on the last BSP of the level Assault on the control room. Your goal is to hold the pyramidal structure as long as you can, beating as much dropship waves as possible.

Features:
- Very intense action
- Phantoms dropping off squads on the pyramid
- Other covenant spawn from monster closets, some will climb the pyramid, others will bombard you from afar, while some attack by air
- Marine and ODST allies: once the marines die, you can call in a new pelican with a fresh squad of marines. The pelican is also heavily armoured, and can lash out massive amounts of damage. Calling in the pelican thus becomes a tactical strike, and is available once the marines on the lower platform are dead. You get a total of five available pelican call-ins. You call the pelican in via a covenant communications-uplink, which is located near your spawn-point. ODST's cannot be replenished, and are a vital asset for long term survival, since two of them have sniper rifles.
- This map differs from traditional firefight maps in the fact that you only have one life. The amount of available marines is limited instead, so use them wisely.
- You get checkpoints after every three survived waves, if you are in a relatively safe area that is
- Music cycler: there are a total of three soundtracks implemented, after about every 3 survived waves, another soundtrack will kick in. Two soundtracks are from Halo3: ODST, and will loop perfectly.
- Helpful HUD information, including when you can call in reinforcements, when you are about to leave the battlefield (and must return within 3-5 seconds, else you get killed), current wave, ...
- An extraction pelican, for when you think all hope is lost. The panel that calls in the pelican is located at the back of the corridor in which you start. Once called in, enemy waves will stop coming.
- Invincible AI spartan, that follows you wherever you go. Use him wisely, and you may just survive that extra wave longer.

Run the map by typing map_name b40_firefight in the console.

The first player who survives wave 20 on legendary, without cheating, will be a legend.

The ones that do are on Halomaps now and then.

... Okay.

Teamkilling marines makes them turn against you. That means anyone on the "human" team.

... Good luck.
