View Full Version : Halo 2 Master Chief Visor Texture in 3DS MAX?

April 22nd, 2007, 08:52 PM
I've been trying to get Halo 2 Master Chief renders for a long time. I cannot seem to get the visor to show up. I posted this over at yayap and got a reply saying this:

no. its a black part on the mastercheif diffuse.

I replied with:

So, if I was rendering, there is no possible way for the visor texture/design to show up?

He replied back with:

If you are rendering, you can do whatever you want. You're not restricted to the ingame halo textures.

I'm talking about the design on his faceplate. I cannot recreate that texture, and it looks horrible when I try to recreate it. Is there a texture out there that matches the same UV map as the Chief texture?

Is there a texture? Is it hidden? Or can it not possibly be done? *I know it can, because I've seen 3ds max renders with the proper faceplate.

The binocular-outline thing is created through the specular map and bumpmap.

he wants the orange (the whole visor) to show up, but he cant because in the h2 master chief bitmap, theres a black space there.

the visor is made with a cubemap

the black lines are made with what l33t said

You mean like this?

That's what it looks like exactly if it were in Halo 2.
