View Full Version : [MAP] CMT Old-Build Map Dump

Here's a bunch of old CMT builds I had laying around, for people to do with what they want. None of the tags are protected. It features some old CMT MP maps (including Snowtorn Cove), and a30, b30, b40, and d40. Of the singleplayer maps, a30 is in the most playable state. The others may require a bit of 'switch_bsp #' to get through all the content. As a disclaimer, these are all older, internal builds, of varying age and quality. This is far from our best work, but it's what I have on me, take it or leave it. There is still fun to be had, which is why we released them. I at least recommend checking out a30 out. It's a bit rough around the edges and goes on and on, but I find it to be a lot of fun!

Snowtorn (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5309): Really have no idea why this wasn't released. It was nearly done.

Jungle Warfare (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5308): Bad layout.

Ivory Tower (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5307): Nobody wanted to fix up the bsp, so we never did anything with it.

Iron Tomb (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5306): Bad layout.

Cliffrun (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5305): Bad layout.

Abandoned (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5303): We couldn't make it look nice or play well.

SP:

b30 (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5313): The new bsps are pretty bad. They're pretty, but they're bad.

d40 (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5315): Plays a lot like the a10 beta, but some of the bsp switches don't quite work. You may need to use the devmode command 'switch_bsp' a lot.

Because I can't model/texture/animate for shit I've been reappropriating things here and there for the mod but the things I wanted most were the Elites and the SMG, both of which were unavailable in the tag release you guys did a while ago

They'll be even more available in due time. I'm still working on cleaning up the stuff I did for the mod, so don't get too attached to this version. Unless you want an inferior product.

Oh damnit, that b40 build isn't what I thought it was. It still has those terribad bsps in them, the ones that even we quickly scrapped and replaced. :vaderno:

At least the first third of that level is fun! Brutes, AA wraiths, splasers, gauss hogs, BRs, needler ghosts, and so forth!

Does the bridge sync in snowtorn? My friends said they couldn't see it and it was really there :/

So (taking into account how quickly you work) they'll be available by the time Reach comes out for PC :realsmug:

Anyways, I tried putting Elites in, and it works good, but almost all of them have that shitty-ass form-fitting head variant (they call it Assault in Halo 3) but I want the much better-looking one (called Combat in H3.) What do

E: Oh, and would there happen to be a variation of the SMG with the stock unfolded

Elite permutations are set up using biped dialog variants. Figure out which ones are linked to the assault helmet and get rid of them. Or, if you're using your own biped just open the gbxmodel and give its dialog perms the ones you want.

I know there's an SMG set somewhere on my computer that has the stock unfolded, but if it's not in there it's not in there. I can try to find it.

And don't underestimate my ability to get things done if I want to get them done.

I'm glad these saw the light of day somehow. Cool looking stuff. Regardless of whether or not they're finished, I'd play them... if only I knew where my CD key got to.

Will the animations be uncorrupted for the Elite and Wraith this time? No weird protecting like y'all usually do.....

Uh... I think? I don't know what you're talking about really. The animations are what they are, if they get messed up during extraction there's nothing to be done about it.

On a30, when I get to the base in the shallow water, I walk into the narrow tunnel in the back of the base. When I get to the depression/drop in it, I get exception. Happened twice, anybody get passed it?

gotta say I liked SC, the indoor waterfall was an awe creating moment

AoTCR was D: alot of the new BSp was empty and devoid of life

at least you left the climbable wall for d40 cause that one part had me scratching my head

the marines on the hillside can never be extracted because of the trees on the hilltop and the location you have the pelican land, and its path causes it to fly into the wall and literally drag across the hill to above the map.

but hey they're old builds, was still fun to play them

My AoTCR didn'y work very well, got to the end of the 1st big piece of new BSP and hit a blank wall of nothingness D:

In AoTCR, you have to use 'switch_bsp 2' at the tunnel after the big room with the bridge and the hunters on the other side. Like, when you hit a dead end and you have to turn left and go down another hall, use it right before that and you'll continue on with the level and go up that other tunnel that leads to the outside world again (and a dropship dropping a few ghosts).

yeha i had to guess the BSP numbers

what shocks me is that no one is bothering to play the MP maps, they may be beta builds, but I think they'd be somewhat fun

While I'm at it, here's another thing you've got to do. This one's on A30:

When you get here, this big structure as well as a bunch of mortar tanks that will come from the tunnel under my scope, use 'object_destroy_all' when you get to the tunnel in the center of it.

It should say "Loading...Done!" like I have, and then you can proceed.

When you get back to the regular bsps, you'll have to restart the mission and do debug_bsp_aa and then switch_bsp 1 to get to the rest of the level.
I'm not there yet, but I'll perhaps edit this post and add that one if it's a difficult thing to do.

Edit: So far I've gotten to the second set of survivors with no troubles, didn't restart the level. By the way, if there "aren't" any enemies in the area, look in the trees. I found an elite and a grunt stuck up there after 5 minutes of frustrating search so I could continue on (will now do).
Edit 2: Yeah, I just beat it completely fine without having to do what Masters had said so I guess you can ignore that unless you run into trouble.

Can we see more of the SP maps released? Or is that it because it is pointless to keep stuff that you will never work on again from the public.

Not quite sure what the BSP transitions are for b40, but my best guesses via trial and error were 13, 6, 12, 5, 1.
13 being the one that switches to automatically when you enter the tunnel at the end of the large indoor room with the bridge. Also, one of the BSP's wasn't connected to the other BSP, so I guessed the closest one to it, then I used the teleporting commands to get there.

You could actually just teleport past all that BSP by just bringing the devcam to where you would normally be ("rolling thunder" area). That's what I did the first time.

still, new areas in b40 lacked any encounters

oh and the banshee in d40...yeah DO NOT take that unless you are playing on normal or below

see with alien ware, I feel like I'd be paying jsut for the name...I mean I got this laptop for 360, only downside is I cant upgrade components and whatnot

oh well, atleast you can enjoy the maps now and thats what matters

I'm stuck at one part of A30, after you come out of the waterfall, then need to activate the switches to open a door. I got three of the switches, yet the door still stays closed. Is there a fourth switch I've missed, or is something going wrong? I've tried restarting the mission to see if it helped, but it didn't.

I did make sure I hit all three, and I went back to them twice each to make sure. I did this both times I've played that level, and I have gotten stuck there both times.

I did go up to the door...and I even started smacking it with my gun out of frustration. Nothing.

EDIT : I just went through that part of the mission again, and it finally worked this time...weird...

if you die you have to hit all three again...just remember oh and grab a sniper rifle, the AA wraiths by one of the switches has brute pilots, and their heads stick out making it easy to incapacitate them only

Is it just me, or is the Sparrowhawk at the end of B30 to do the epic dogfight missing? I was told that it was beside the Pelican after coming out from underground, but it's not there...

It's like, on the opposite side of the pelican. When you come out, look to the right and you should see it.

Well I have no idea why you keep getting fucked over in the campaign, try just spawning all the vehicles via dev and if that doesn't work then just restart the level and 'game_speed #' through the whole thing until you get back to the surface and search for the Sparrowhawk.

Overall, they were brilliant
A30 was too long, but really pretty
B30 was too short for me, but also pretty
B40 was just plain boring.
D40 was too much like A10
Haven't tried MP yet, but it looks good

any chance of a c20 beta being released (The Library)? Or maby a d20 (Keyes) beta? I found Flood blob files in the scenery coming from the cmt\scenarios\singleplayer\c20 folder and saw them in the d20 part of the CMTv2 trailer and now im interested in the flood maps. Well..... Very interested XD
