Fans of the Call of Duty (http://autoblog.com/tag/call+of+duty) video game franchise know that the latest edition, Call of Duty: Black Ops, will be released on November 9th. What you might not know, however, is that Activision Publishing, Inc. – the folks responsible for distributing Call of Duty – have partnered with Jeep (http://autoblog.com/make/jeep), not only to have the Wrangler (http://autoblog.com/model/wrangler) featured in the latest addition of the CoD series, but to create a special Call of Duty edition of Jeep's most popular vehicle.

I would seriously hate to be the guy asking to buy that. I mean, walking into a car dealership and asking for the video game model seems pretty damn lame to me... Though the Black Ops Edition is slightly better than the Rubicon model from the looks of it.

I wouldn't feel bad about buying that, assuming the vehicle is high quality. The glossy black finish is attractive, the Call of Duty decals are very subtle, and it looks pretty damn sturdy.

I just don't have $30k lying around :P

dear lord....10 years ago if you read about a jeep it'd be about axles, ground clearance, a gear ratios....nevermind a COD jeep....it's pretty much "the cupholders have logos in them". They cold have made it a badass war wagon but instead it all about bluetooth.

lame.

They seem to think that all video gamers are nerds and nothing else...there could be hardcore Jeepers out there. However, I wouldn't want that black finish if I was actually using my Jeep for what a Jeep is for...

If your route to the grocery store includes RIGOROUS MOUNTAINS FULL OF BEARS AND MUDPITS AND WILD INDIANS-WAITING-TO-BE-OFFROAD-KILL, then yes, that's what a jeep is for.

That's what I use my Jeep for, got the White paint though. You can't get the Jeeps without a gloss paint job now unless you repaint it yourself, so it doesn't really matter what color you choose Korn. I have to admit, it's not my Jeep, it's my dads and he got it for lol-cheap-staff-price because he works for a body-shop that Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler contract with.

That said, we've been slowly building it into an off-road machine. Got a Warn 9500ti winch on the front, upgraded the skid-plates to cover more area (almost the entire under-side), cold-air intake to help improve low-end torque and performance... Next we'll be getting an AEV Hood/Snorkel, then a 3.5" lift and hopefully 35" tires with spacers to offset the change in center-of-gravity due to the lift.

I'm just saying, if someone came out to one of the Jeep club trail runs I attend around here in the Call of Duty Jeep, there would be laughs. Many laughs. Even though it's a good off-roader, laughs would be had!

Does it protect you from bullets and zombies?

What? No. Don't be silly, that's not what Jeeps are for.

However, fuck Jeeps when you have one of these:

Some guy we hunt with brought his out this weekend, got a pic of me and a good friend in it doing the "drive-me-closer-so-I-can-hit-it-with-my-sword" pose. The thing does actually go through freaking anything. And it floats (100% amphibious).

Shitty photo, but here's the one I was in. I'm the one in the rear-most turret, will get full size photo when I can.

Uh, why would people want that? Cars are designed to be kept for years. Videogames like Call of Duty... especially Call of Duty... are designed to be turned over the next year pretty much on the year.

It's like getting a Tattoo of a band logo.
