I think I will record some of my first games with fraps or Win Media Encoder, and then make a montage of that:)

So.. Are you guys planning to do some kind of movie of your gameplay when it comes out?

Ah....I remember those days....slapping nades on a hog and watching it blow sky high....taking death defying leaps off of Death Island.

I miss bigeric. :(

I'm still working on my Halo 2 montage from Xbox, maybe I'll combine the two...and Halo 3 beta.

I wonder if they added a "special" ending like they did in Halo on Legendary? LOL!!!!!

I can't get FRAPS to work on my computer ever since I upgraded to Vista
I was hoping to make some montages as soon as H2V came out :(
Good Luck with your montages

Then you should try Windows Media Encoder. Try it's free.
(I have not tried it yet)

Are you sure it can record games, so far it just looks like a video editor to me
I'll look into it

I have no idea how it works, but some friends have recommened it to me.

I guess that this explains all:

I tried it and the recordings don't have a very good framerate and it lags the game ALOT, I guessing because it compresses while it records, output file is a wmv

Hmm, well I think we have to stick with fraps then.

..Although fraps saves in avi and the file sizes is HUGE..

Because it doesn't compress as it records, its either you get compression while your record = bad fps or no compression = better fps large file
