Yay. Already have a generator, plenty of water, food, kerosene, gasoline, and ammunition. All set here for the inevitable power outage and popular panic. All I need is a 3G-capable phone, and that's for entertainment purposes.

Nah, the rain is just moving a hundred miles an hour laterally as it falls.

>_>

At what point would a drop of water be able to generate lift?

Anyways, this storm is crazy close to the coast. Forgot to hit submit last night, so I'll say it today. Long Island is fucked.

Reporting from Strong Island, New York. Everything's fine, just a short heavy shower from the edge of Irene's fat ass.

Like said before, it should get weaker...I mean the water is a bit cooler up here so that could weaken it a bit...probably not enough but...yep.

If your house is hit by a dolphin, DO NOT GO OUTSIDE TO SEE IF IF THE DOLPHIN IS OKAY! That's how the hurricane tricks you into coming outside and DYING.

Be safe.

The size of it is mind-blowing, you could fit at least, 4 United Kingdoms in there..that is absolutely terrifying, I imagine any place in the UK - its getting owned by winds/rain.

I'm supposed to move back to my school in NJ on Monday, hopefully it will die down by then. Right now I'm getting heavy rain on and off, nothing out of the ordinary though. The power going out is my only real concern though; the only thing keeping my basement from becoming a pool is an electric pump.

Been holed up at Fairleigh Dickinson University an hour west of NYC without power for most of the night. We've been spared most of the flooding in my building at least, though I've heard of a lot of friends still at nearby homes whose basements have flooded. The eye should be passing fairly soon, then only a few more hours of rain and wind.
