who went and saw the 3D re-release of the lion king at the cinemas?

God i loved this movie, and it's still just as good 15 years later

Was pretty neat in 3D...almost a little confusing at first because it's a 2D animated movie in 3D and your eyes are like "wait what?..."

Then you adjust and it's pretty awesome.

I didn't get the opportunity to see it. I bet it was amazing in 3D though.

How?
It's probably the best "classic Disney animated musical" but when people burst out in song I find it hard to keep watching in anything.

But these are Disney songs. The old, good kind. The ones that are awesome. That every child pretty much knows by heart now.

You sicken me with your dislike for them D: (but yes, "Be Prepared" is creepy I admit)

I don't give a shit, and I'm sick of these dumb as fuck re-releases with an added gimmick, as an excuse to not make anything new, creative, and good.

i'm sorry for your loss.

also
(it's one of the greatest movies of all time, hands down, when i was a kid i literally wore the VCR tape out watching this movie because my family was too poor to go to the movie. So i for one am greatful to see the masterpiece in the way it was supposed to be shown, on the big screen.)

TL:DR
Deal with it

I had the opportunity to the see the Broadway production version, and I'd say that The Lion King, as a story, would have been much better as an epic stage-only performance, if they replaced a few of the musical numbers. The Lion King to me, even as the classic it is, is unrealized potential.

Anyone who hasn't seen this movie has been deprived of a critical part of their childhood.

15 years later it's still one of the best Disney movies ever (The Little Mermaid and Aladdin are also up there with it, but The Lion King was not based on a prior book/story). For all of this being made by hand, it's amazing the amount of detail they put into the movie. Hell, they even did depth of field!

Also the soundtrack for the ending of this movie is golden.

Just watched the video part for the first time since this thread was posted. The part where the Baboon lifts Simba into the air choked me up :'( I forgot how much I loved this movie.
