No, I don't, nor do I really understand the mindset of a heroin addict. It just seems logical from my point of view (somebody who's never really been around drugs) that if it starts doing shit like that to your body then you'd want to go get help. I have no doubts in my mind that it's hard to withdraw from drugs though, but come on... I dunno, in the end it's just one of those things that some people understand that I don't.

You can have sores which develop into parts of your flesh being missing and not have any blood loss.
May want to look into spider bites, some spider bites can result into massive holes in your flesh from the venom causing necrosis.

killing is not a good thing and drug users are often exploited, yes they are to blame for not having the moral courage to say no but once they say yes that first time it's a slippery slope which is very hard to get off of.

since people in here seem to be having trouble working out why anyone would do this, let me provide some background. i'm not real well-versed on what's going on in russia currently, but hey.

basically, when the soviet union collapsed, russia got totally fucked. like completely. right through the 90s they had practically nothing of anything, their military went from one of the strongest (if not the strongest) in the world to a joke practically overnight. everything fell into disrepair, everyone had to really struggle to get by, imagine it as the great depression except not. during this time, and partly thanks to the government having shit all money to fund law enforcement, the mafia and other forms of organised crime made a motherfucking shitload of cash, as did anyone who took bribes from them (and a lot of government officials did). certain people with a good business sense also began to make their fortunes, usually in legally ambiguous ways, and so you had a few very, very rich men in a very, very poor country. things slowly began to improve and while they're a lot better now, russia is still a clusterfuck of a country and corruption is still a problem. the rich rule from their ivory towers, untouchable by law until they piss off the wrong person in government. the average person is still doing pretty poorly compared to western counterparts - i watched a documentary on one of their typhoon missile subs (biggest in the world, pride of the navy) and the commander, right after being named the best captain in the fleet and awarded and all that, went back to a 60s-era legoland apartment complex, half of the doors boarded up and lights not working, only to be thrown out of his shoebox apartment by his wife. for our us posters, think of the stereotypical projects, that's basically it. for uk posters, nelson mandela house from only fools and horses. russian men have a terribly low life expectancy, an alarmingly high suicide rate, and are extremely prone to turning to alcoholism and/or drugs to try and escape their shitty lives. is this an excuse? no, hardly. it does explain though how it happens. not everyone has the courage to turn down a quick high and shut out reality for a while, and once they're hooked their dealers, just like western dealers, will give them shittier and shittier product that is cut with all kinds of ungodly shit. a few of them may be feeling brave, or they're not getting the high they once were, so they try something stronger. what's this? krokodil? sounds pretty rad. that nasty shit is bad but it won't happen to me.
