Who wants to see equippable phosphorous grenades in Halo? I know I do.

Blinds nearby players, and sets anything close to it alight. 594 polies (a shade over 1,000 triangles, but not much of a problem as it's equippable and I might end up using a way lower poly one for the projectile itself). About an hour's work. Based on the Mk94 "Willie Pete" grenade. Will appear bright sky blue ingame.

Sweet i like it, btw love the idea to get equippable grenades. Do you like hold them, then chose to throw them? Like in COD games? (Sorry COD1/COD2, are the only games ive played with grenades that u hold before u throw and is an FPS)

I just had an interesting idea about the whole "3rd weapon" sort of thing. You know how you regularly only have two weapons that you switch between? You could have a 3rd weapon toggle that you go to which is your grenades, and if you're out of grenades it's just your hands, where you could punch or melee or maybe you'd have a knife. It's a thought.

I was thinking of the grenades not counting towards the max. weapon count already, but that's an interesting idea. If we can get it working, maybe once you throw however many you're carrying, you'll be able to punch. Just a maybe though.

If not, punching with grenades maybe? :O

Also, from teh infoz:

Effects of exposure to WP weapons

Incandescent particles of WP cast off by a WP weapon's initial explosion can produce extensive, deep (second and third degree), painful burns. Phosphorus burns carry a greater risk of mortality than other forms of burns due to the absorption of phosphorus into the body through the burned area, resulting in liver, heart and kidney damage, and in some cases multi-organ failure.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_phosphorus_%28weapon%29#_note-1) These weapons are particularly dangerous to exposed people because white phosphorus continues to burn unless deprived of oxygen or until it is completely consumed, in some cases burning right down to the bone. In some cases, burns may be limited to areas of exposed skin because the smaller WP particles do not burn completely through personal clothing before being consumed. According to GlobalSecurity.org (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GlobalSecurity.org), quoted by "The Guardian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Guardian)", "White phosphorus results in painful chemical burn injuries" [7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_phosphorus_%28weapon%29#_note-www.globalsecurity.org.472) .
Oh burn. >_>

too much detail for something soo small. You'd never be able to see that much detail while ingame.

we're gunna do somethin like this for our ww2 mod after ambush since all secondary triggers are going to be replaced with an aiming animation. you'd think that w/o a ret it'd be harder but we gave it a test run an it was quite fun. i like this idea better then the way halo works. only thing i don't like about not counting toward max is the scrolling through 3 weapons sometimes getd annoying. detail is fine cause in fp you'd notice it but projectile should have much less detail.

hmm, i think it would be ok, i dont think u can hold 3 weapons, so ull have to have them be as good as a firearm to justify using them.

nice idea though, but there a little too detailed, unless your making them pretty big, it wouldnt really matter. what kind of limit would u put on these things? 4 nades is a little low considering it takes up a whole weapon, maybe 6-8.

Yes, it looks very nice but has a lot of polies for a grenade. Most of the extra polies can be taken care of with texturing.

yea but he wants to do it like where it's a weapon kinda like tiamats c4 so the extra polies in fp arn't to bad

If you go through with Ghosts idea from a few post back you can use the knife I made, I only finished the model and some of the textures, which you can not use if you want. Here is teh linky (http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=2138)

Hmm... that's true. Maybe you'd have a less-detailed 3P model and use this one for the FP model?

Uhhh... no... you've never seen the "Doesn't count towards max weapons" flag in Guerilla? How else would Tiamat let you carry 2 guns and C4 at the same time in his maps?

You win. Exactly what I was going to do.

Looks nice, kind of high poly, but then again it is a FP model..... Hmm

I like it, I say keep it where it is. Halo supports what, 6000 for FP? This is nothing compared to that. My knife I made I think has higher polies.

EDIT* nvm didn't read. :|

914 tris? looks a bit highpoly for a grenade :p

instead of a torus, use a thin tube.

that's all i can think of :/

omg 1+!

It kind of looks a little bland, but that can be fixed with a nice skin. Good idea, i'd like to see it in-game.

Kinda hard to make a grenade detailed, well, for me anyway =/

And it was a cylinder originally, not a torus. Only the pin was a torus.
