i have a decnt computer and graphics card, better than some people who play h2v, and i still only get 20 fps when i play.

what is wrong with my computer?

specs: 1gb ram, amd athlon 3800+ dual core 1.9ghz a piece, adding up to 3.8 ghz, ati radeon x1300 pro agp 256 mb 533mhz

i should be able to run it just fine, what should i do differently?

i play with all settings low.

Looks like you need a better card to me. I doubt mine will get much above 30 or 40, tbqh (probably 30). I have a X1650XT. The recommended card for a decent performance was x1800, with the requirement of x700 or above.

Yeah, so apparently Halo 2 Vista followed Halo PC's footsteps in being a poorly optimized game... Try getting a X1950GT AGP (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102093), it will probably offer you best "bang for the buck"

Wrong. A dual core 1.9ghz processor does not mean it runs twice as fast, only that it can handle twice the volume of threads. You may want to upgrade your processor as well, because Halo 2 Vista requires atleast a 2ghz processor(s).

Well, I have 1.5 gigs of ram, an athlon 64 X2 3800+ at 2.0 ghz, and an ati X800GTO pci/e 256 mb, and it runs at 40-70 fps

I hope. When I get this game, eventually, after finals, which will be like mid june. Sigh.:(

And hey, if that setup can play fear maxed out at 40+ fps then im fine.

Oh yeah, x1300s are almost on par with x300s or x500s which are $h!t

And I suggest You get A new one PRETTY soon, or you will be in big trouble. There are a lot of good deals on newegg, so check them out.

BTW srry about that big space under this I dont know how it came there

well, it could be a mixture of things i suppose. i had my computer cleaned out by a remote technician and it helped me out alot, but i suppose i could still upgrade a bunch of things. are there any console or config modifications yet?

I have the same card with a better processor and only get 20 fps at low lvls as well.

I have an ATI Radion X1900 GT and I've gotten better FPS in H2V than I did in H1 and I'm playing at the default settings in H2V.

I have a C2D E6600, 2gb RAM, 8800 GTX, I'll tell you if the game is "poorly optimized", or whether you guys just need better specs when I get it on the 31st.

Well, if you read the hired gun blogs they specifically talked about removing engine optimization features like LODs and mipmaps, so yes I imagine it is poorly optimized...

In the case the x1300 really sucks that bad, I will probably get at least 50 to 70 fps then.

from what i've been told, AMD Athalon reads the GHz differently then intel. So 1.9ghz is actually above 2.5GHz

I thought ghz was similarly universal.

from what i've been told, AMD Athalon reads the GHz differently then intel. So 1.9ghz is actually above 2.5GHz it reads ghz the same it just does more work per clock cycle, so a amd athlon at 1.9 ghz would be the equivalent to a p4 at 3.3-3.4, but a core2duo would at 1.5ghz would be the equivalent of a athlon at 1.9

I have an X1300 (upgrading to dual GTXs this summer). It runs like absolute sh*t. I'll get 20 fps if I'm lucky. I ran on high settings; the menus had artifacts!

The X1300 isn't much better than the X300. It can't even take advantage of SM3.0. Avoid at all costs. For noobs, the X1300 is deceptive because it can be offered with 512 MB of video memory, which all goes to waste.

An X1600 is my recommendation.

No, not the x1600, it may be better, but if you are willing to get the x1600xt, wait for my review on H2V with that card =S (since i have it =D) Then you can take it into consideration.
