Rules - Read Me First!

My friend and I made this up at school today doing some "research". I've thought of a way to apply it here. Hopefully it'll catch on.

The point of the game is to go from one article on Wikipedia to another unrelated article in the least amount of steps. This is done by following links within the article to other articles.

The winner is the one who uses the least amount of steps to navigate to the finish page.

The winner starts the next round by posting the start and finish articles.

Rules:

You may not edit the article to include more links
You may only use links within the article (including templates)
You may not use the left side Wikipedia bar, including the search
You are allowed to make as many attempts as you want on your own, but only one entry per round (make it count!)
General consensus of the posters is used to announce a winner according to the game rules
Obviously, you may not use the exact same path as the previous contestantExample Templates:

Go from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplodocus to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark!

A contestant for this round would post:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diplodocus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevron_%28anatomy%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevron_%28anatomy%29)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bone
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cartilage
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shark_cartilage
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SharkIt took me 5 clicks to get from the Diplodocus to the Shark!

Important Stuff:

Remember, only the first 5 contestant posts after the round creation count.
Be fast and make your post count!
You will obviously only post an entry if it took less steps than the one before you.
If people give up before 5 are reached, the one with the least steps still wins (make sure to complain if it's too hard, so the Round Creator can announce the default winner)
In the event of a tie, the contestant of the pair that posted their entry first wins
It's best if the round creator chooses two completely random articles, and does not try to find a path between them until chosenI can change the rules if they need changing.

The First Round:

Go from the Carribean Sea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caribbean_Sea)to Snowboarding (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowboarding)!

It's quite possible, don't worry! Remember to follow the rules and post fast! I will be responsible for keeping track of who won, and giving that user +rep.

Looks like I should have picked something tougher, that's a tough score to beat! We'll see if anyone can. If they can't they should post and say it's too hard and I'll announce the person with the lowest score as the winner.

Abdurahman
May 25th, 2007, 08:48 PM
