Rendering Tutorial: OK, so I did a quick rendering tutorial. Too many times I see shitty standard or clay renders on models. Here's an easy tut to make a little nicer looking renders. One part near the end screwed up some of the audio, don't worry you didn't miss anything important. Link:

HA! Thought it was done didn't you. Not quite. I need some help, sort of. I am planning on making some 3D modelling tutorials, as I feel the Beretta ones are good, but a bit is missing from them. So, I need some ideas for weapons you would like to see done. I'll be reading all your suggestions, but I'm mostly asking this to the more senior 3D modellers who have a better idea of what goes into a 3D model. Also, I have another proposition. I asked this on gbx, but never got a response. If you've got models with errors, or things you just don't understand how to do, send em in. I'll record myself fixing them, or doing the part you just can't wrap your head around modelling. Remember, the more stuff you send me to help with, the more in return you will get the knowledge to do. I do have other projects going on though, so don't expect all of these to come out on the double. Thanks!

Also, someone who can do so, once I get some more of these done, could I possibly get a sticky so the people don't have to search down the thread for the tutorials? I'll be posting them here as I create them.

Model a USP grip. I have no idea how to do it since its such a weird shape. It has that flat half circle type shape in the back, yet the handle itself its curved back there while the handle is round at the same time. I'm sure you know what it looks like, but heres a picture anyway.

I think a good thing to model for a tut would be the gun I'm modelling right now, an MP7. This thing is a bitch because I'm sort of new to 3D modelling =P.

There are lots of curves and places where things meet, its not all one flat piece and it was an absolute bitch to get the front to look right =P. I ended up using the cut tool to shape some a lot of stuff on it, so it will be good experience for that.

Also maybe an F2000 since it has a shit load of curved surfaces on it and it's a nice futuristic weapon that will make all the little noobies giddy.

Hmm, I'll keep those in mind legionaire. Also, updated with a quick rendering tutorial, mostly cause I wanted to try out Camtasia, lol.

Bah, you used Rapidshit. >_> I accidentally deleted it after downloading, and can't re-download for another 30 minutes.

I think both of those would be excellent choices for a tutorial. I have yet to ever come across a tutorial that covers a project this large, so a tutorial on this would be a lifesaver. Seriously, if I was still a noob and couldn't model those, I would download and watch as many videos as it takes to make that thing. If you do something like this luke, I may just have to e-hump you.

Ok, I made the USP thingy. I'll upload the movie by tomorrow hopefully. Here's some pics of the it and it's wireframe though just to tide you over.

About the rendering...right click on perspective and turn on "Show Safe Frame" or something like that.It shows you what gets rendered.

Nice tut.:)
