Extreme Makeover

Welcome to the new H2Vista.net! It’s been almost one year since this website was founded. As it was mentioned in an earlier news post, this website’s birthday is coming up, and to celebrate it, we’re giving it a facelift. While we’re still well over a month away, we decided it was best to let the cat out of the bag. Not only do would we have to keep the burden on our shoulders for the next month and a half, but the website’s birthday is around the time school begins again.

There have been several changes, most of which will go unnoticed until further exploration. For one, the ‘postbit’ is now a user-selectable option. The postbit is basically the template the the forum uses to display posts on. The default is what you’re all already used to, but you can choose between the horizontal and vertical through the options menu in your user control panel. You will find it under “Postbit Template Selection”.

RSS feeds have been added to the forums. For those of you who don’t understand what RSS does, it essentially allows you to receive updates of threads on the forums through an RSS reader without actually browsing the forums in your web browser.

The forum index has been cleaned up a little with the new addition of a new menu item at the top of your screen called “Community”. This will bring you to a page containing map teams from both the Halo CE and Halo 2 communities (and possibly Halo 3 when we get to that…).

This news post is only a brief summary of what has been added to the forums. The rest will just have to be found out through exploration. We hope you enjoy it. We understand that there are bound to be some bugs and glitches found (like the PC specs), so just bare with us for now. More changes to come. Let the C&C begin!

The new layout looks great, I like the darker colors, excellent color scheme. I especially like the halo hud radar for the category icons! Great job guys.

A forum's a forum, imo, but I like the new looks. It's soothing, somehow...
but now my avatar has an ugly box around it. I don't like that. I miss my nice blended in avatar.

edit: ugh and now my sig is the wrong color too. Hm... idk. Maybe if I could see some screens of the old next to the new?
Any new style is going to have growing pains. We'll see how we adapt to this one.
