This graphics card (XFX 8600GT)

Or This one (eVGA 7800GS)

Or If the eVGA sucks, then this will be my alternative (BFG 7800GS)

I only have $427.24 So if you have to suggest new stuff try to keep it reasonable.

Well first for graphics card I have a few questions. Is your bus PCI-E or AGP 8x? And do you want DX10 or DX9?

For ram, Corsair XMS2 240pin DDR2 800 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145590)

He's got PCI-E, iirc, he's got a Core 2 too and has no care to overclock (iirc, again.)

Croc, go for DDR2 2GB kits that are in the Anandtech hot deals section, you'll find either 667 or 800 kits for a killer price (as low as $60, and they are usually great sets too.)

As for your GPU, save up a bit for the best you can get. I'd say nothing less then an 8800GTS 320GB/640GB, or any eVGA for step-up if you've got to. Honestly though, save a bit for the better card.
