zteam was in no way associated with that ui, thats the hard work of jcap, snaf, Timo, Conscars and others. Theres been so many threads on this the answers always the same "snaf hasn't finished the bsp".

Still waiting on the bsp to be finished. I believe Snafubar is the one working on it, but he's got bigger things to work on. He's said he'll finish it, but I dont know if he ever will.

that was a learning curb for me and the community. nobody had bothered to detail insides of buildings like that before. The project was handed off to a few guys that really wanted to texture it, but it was just too much for anyone at the time.

All the Delta Halo UI tags are on that vista drive. Some people have the UI but there's updated pause menus for multiplayer/single player that nobody else has.

No, I'm on CMT. Masterz has talked about using the Delta Halo UI for the new CMT SPV2 UI, and since nobody seems to be, well, finishing DHUI, I thought CMT could pick up the project.

Welp, masters didn't send me a full set of ui tags--theres a lot of stuff missing like bitmaps, the main widgets, etc, so if somebody has the actual compiled map if they could send it to me so i could just rip em to my tagset i would love them forever

What good is it doing anybody just sitting on your computer. There are many people (raises hand) who would like to use it now.

If you want to keep working on it later, that's great but if not it's far better to have it out there (now while some people still play the fucking game) then in another year or two.

Seriously, it makes absolutely no sense to keep pissing the "oh we're still working on it/it's not done yet" when the UI in the pictures in the origional fucking post of the origional fucking thread on this site showed the UI in a perfectly workable setup. :eyesroll:

I'd like to have it myself as well, and if a final version is released in the future I would have no qualms about updating from the version we'd receive now.

The UI elements are long done. However, they're looking for a map to put it with. A beautifully polished main menu looks so horribly out of placed with a bland-ass Halo ring.

I can completely agree with that statement, but as previously said by someone else release version 1 of it now with halo ring or some other map, and if it ever gets fully completed release that.

I never did get what that was all about.

Incidentally, is there an admire option? (removes everything from screen except the sexy bsp, then press any key to return to the menu)? It's been so long I can't remember.

Yes Admire button is needed but don't do it like it was done in yoyorast Island and replace the credits... When I beat the SP I went to admire instead of the credits (I'm not complaining though)

Actually timo, thats a good idea. I could have two (or more) connecting bitmaps and upsize those individually. But, i have no idea how to paint landmasses and i don't know where to find them. If anybody wants to help out there...please post some links.

The enthusiasm is nice, but they agreed not to release without my bsp... idk why. I told Timo to go ahead and just have basic textures applied and blue filter it.

What do you guys think?

Having a revamp of the original ring in space is pretty bad ass. I'd accept that as a placeholder till the final version gets done. ;D Honestly, any sort of release would be awesome.

For the SPV1 UI, Zeph did a new multi map set for the rind, looked really nice. I can send it to you if you want. Also, Lag rebuilt the T&R's top section, if you wanted to use it in the sky BSP, along with the Halo ring, you could probably make a really sweet UI with the sexified Halo ring, the sky edited to be like real blackness with stars, none of the purple blue hue, and cruisers in the background. What CMT has is free for you to use in the UI if you wish.

The only thing that can animate in a UI is textures, so nothing can move (ships, bipeds etc). If there were ships they'd be in one place :\

If everything was to scale, wouldn't the ships be tiny dots and pale in comparison to the size of the halo ring? I know I was talking to you over aim about this but I just clicked.

You could put high charity somewhere in the background in space... doesn't exactly fit the story tho heh.

E: Or just put the POA in there somewheres, model or bitmap in the background... itd be hella sick if when it first started it could show life pods entering the rings atmosphere somehow haha, I never knew uis could only use animated textures/shaders.

Really, the original Installation 04 would make the most sense since it's Halo 1. The broken ring would KIND OF make sense since that's how the game ended, but still.

Halo 1 had a bad ass UI bsp imo, and a revamp would be a great idea.

Danes been working on them. He sent me a version of the diffuse a day or two ago, even without bumps (or 'baked' ones) it looks nice on the mc

we just gotta wait for him to finish

Danes been working on them. He sent me a version of the diffuse a day or two ago, even without bumps (or 'baked' ones) it looks nice on the mc

we just gotta wait for him to finish

Jump on aim later and i'll send you the .tif that the mc needs to fit into so you can set up your render.

There's been about 5 different attempts at BSPs for this UI, all of which that disappear somewhere along the line :\ Jcap wants to redo everything now, too.

Personally, i'm keen to have it released just with the original halo ring, maybe with a higher res texture.

It's not 100% finished. This thread is going around in circles - as I said it's highly unlikely that there'll be a release now, although when the final is released, it *might* come with different bsps.

I think he was just making it obviouse that DEE is not the founder of that lightmapping method. I do find it annoying how when someone refers to that lightmapping method DEE is always mentioned. All he did was make a tutorial for it.

I think the fact that DEE posts in every thread about lightmapping may have something to do with it, too.

Seems to be a good technique though, I'm not much of a mapper but if I lightmap it up I'll likely use his tut.
