The shape is reminiscent of DUke Nukem's pistol, so what's not to like?

Cool, now make it less cumbersome and ugly.

Well, if you watched the video, it hurt the glass bottle, and glass bottles can hurt people, so indirectly, yes.

hrm... looks like the pistol from unreal tournament. i guess from the fron part how it hangs down infront of the trigger, still looks cool nonetheless.

If this version isn't harmful, im sure that another could be built with more curcuitry so that it could. Also, I wouldn't imagine that it would be fun to be hit by a full sized assault rifle variant.

OmegaDragon

How much does it weigh? It looks heavy compared to other pistols i have seen. Still a pretty neat idea. Soon you should see a hummer with a gauss cannon strapped to it XD

On that discovery channel show "future weapons" they had the metal storm

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-y972ZrzKw

almost all electronic, oh and it shoots a million rounds a minute.

Uh...We're talking about a gauss pistol. Not the metal storm. <_<

...And developed in Australia. :3

That thing fires 40mm grenades, too... not just ordinary bullets.

Neat, but it doesn't appear to have a lot of power from what I can see in the videos. It only tipped the bottle and can over, not much damage to can. I don't think it could shoot 30 meters, maybe. This is just the beginning anyway, but I don't see it performing as well as ordinary weapons within 50 years.

I just read around the site, thankfully they will. If your within the region of California or maybe Oregen, well....better start changing your location field....xD (that means Teroh since he's closest.)
