Welcome to the Hood. Dang near everything could be improved. That thing couldn't be saved by smoothing alone, so I'd suggest you contact Snafubar, or read some of the tutorials that TheGhost kindly put up, and then start over.

box modeled by the luks of it, the design is 2 bad, its just the model, that will be a very high poly model, and if you modeled a map like that it wud be a error party. Do wat i did and watch a plane modeling tutorial, ive start plane modeling now and its alot better than box modeling:

lol, thanks, ive only just started plane modeling as well. So you should be able to make something lyk mine, just luk for a good weapon or use the weapon out of the tutorial and you could make something lyk that.

Wait i just noticed, you weapon has a simular shape 2 the Assult Rifle, did you modify the Assult Rifle model?

I started from scratch but I imported the AR on the side of it so Id know about how big to make it.

all you did was tesselate the halo AR, drag things around and extrude some things. i don't believe you imported the halo AR for a reference at all, because you imported it to change it.

what the hell is that?!?!?!

seriously the lack of smoothing and extreme amount of tris is like...ahhh. best thing to do is start over. that mesh looks like a complete mess. don't triangulate so much and do NOT tessellate anything if that's what you did. nor use the halo ar if that's what you did as well.

Reeaaalllllyyyyyyyyy, thats why its not skinned, and I went to the trouble to delete the pumps on the front, the flashlight cylinder, and remake faces around them, I am many things, a modder nub is not one of them.

In other words you went to the trouble to edit a perfectly innocent assault rifle into a glob of light blue early sci-fi alien shitslime which was then carelessly molded into some sort of weapon-like shape.

yeah, you're not a modder nub. you're a bloody idiot.

Delete this crap and actually learn to model. With that ego (a modder nub is not one of them? lmao) constructive comments probably won't get anywhere...then again, this "gun" is a lost cause anyway.
Hope you learn something from the tutorial.

dude i don't usually say this but that gun sux
try to find a side-view of an already existing weapon and then use plane modeling (editable poly is a preferrable setting to use in weapon modeling after numerous attempts at a spartan laser... just for the helluv it)

try learning about real guns (parts and whatnut... guns are more than just a box with a trigger) before trying to design your own next time.

Wow! You guys must be high, because that the best fricken model I've ever seen! Everything about this model just screams perfection, hard work, determination and raw skill. The about of detail you manged to fit onto this fantastic piece of art is almost unbearable to to my naked unworthy eyes! Every time I glance at this model my heart skips a beat over how wonderfully beautiful it is. Such skill, such expertise couldn't be matched by snaf or ross. I'm in utter shock that you could create something so amazing as this with so few polygons! You must have to seriously skill. Other models of this magnitude have at least 5 times as many polygons. My mind is blogged by how the mind of a mere human could give birth to such an intelligently designed weapon. Somehow you planned out its architecture so well, that it doesn't even require a trigger! Brilliant!

Well done, you have a bright future in the community. I'm surprised that Bungie hasn't made you their president already.

Yes I'm an ass, but did you honestly expect to get positive results out of this model?

I detect sarcasm (I think, it's the Internetz, so you never know).
Also, trust me, he made that thing, it's not an Assault Rifle model, trust me. He's made other stuff, too, but I'm not going to repost them as he would probably get flamed for polygon wastage and lack of smoothing on one model, and the fact it looks like something out of the Flintstones on the other (Mainly because of the skin).

model-wise, it's not that terrible.
it's bad, but not a monstrosity as these ssholes make it out to be.
it's the way you're presenting it wich makes the morons here freak out.

here's what you can do to fix it up a bit.
first of all, stop hitting the tesselate button.
next, select your model, rightclick it, and convert to editable poly.(see image 1)
http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07361/rightclick.JPG

then, go to polygon-mode, and hit ctrl-A, wic selects all faces, and at least give it a little auto-smooth, to get rid of the most obvious non-planar faces, and make it a bit more presentable (see image 2)

But yeah... learn plane modeling and start over, its way to high poly and can't really be salvaged.

EDIT: wow... im way to late with that comment... w/e

as for the pistol... its not that bad of a model actualy like tweek said, but the problem is the nonplanar faces, and things that just don't belong, as for the rest I'm no gun freak... basicaly the model needs alot of cleaning and face recreation. (delete the messy spots and remake them using face create, except make the spots that should be flat flat.)

EDIT: forgot to add this...
