Making a new thread for my Rifle so that i don't have to post a completely different weapon in H3 Sniper Rifle thread. I will be remaking my Sniper Rifle from scratch once i have finished this Rifle, this is so i can practice plane modeling techniques ready to make a awesome H3 Sniper Rifle.

The sight system is all wrong, as is most of the gun. It's curved, it's not a freaking box. You need more than just side references to model a gun. Also, I believe it's called the XM8.

That's a pretty lousy and illogical justification.
Here's a perspective reference.

i voted do not like. why? because actually, yes, it DOES need a lot of work. i can look at what you're doing and it's hardly plane modeling. the way you're going about it, you might as well trace it out with a spline, extrude it, and chamfer the living hell out of it like you've done with the plane.

you've got a lot of terrible faces around the trigger, grip, magazine well, under the carry handle, etc. everything behind the grip is totally inaccurate. lay off the chamfer tool and watch the tutorial again so you understand how to do the rounded portions, alright?

you also do NOT need to round the cocking handle you don't see detail like that very well in game. it's more of a waste then anything. also it's the m8. x stands for experimental so xm8 however the army dropped it so it's just m8 i think now.

Well, looks like a curvy box. Needs a lot of work, and a lot of optimization. Another thing, for stuff like your fire selecter, you shouldn't pull the side verts so far into the model. It just takes up uvw map space.

The grip and scope are the only things that I see that needs a major face lift. Everything else looks decently proportioned, just detail it up (obvious). Put a bit more energy into the barrel and stock. Luckily for you this is a pretty simple design (another reason this is one of my favorite weapons).
