Man I never knew they could be so low! a Radeon 9800 can run it! They did a great job of optimizing it, just like Epic did!

Meh!
I wish they didn't lower it so much, they had a great game and high potential, they still do, but even on the higher end cards it doesn't look so amazing to me now. Although, I've only played the beta, which is pretty awesome, i hope they work out some of the glitches.

Although, the new range will have a wider audience, so more people to fill up those big servers i guess :D.

PS:
I think the Recommended should look more like this:

Recommended Requirements

CPU: Core 2 Duo/Athlon X2 or better (Dual core or better)
RAM: 2GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 8600 Series, ATI Radeon 2600 Series or better
VRAM: 256/512 of Graphics Memory or more
Storage: 12GB
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
ODD: DVD-ROM
OS: Microsoft Windows XP or Vista
DirectX: DX9.0c or DX10

reading the minimum specs basically equates to reading my own system specs.

What's wrong with that? You just have the game looking ok on the lower end video cards, but looking awesomely realistic on high end DX10 cards. The lower the minimum requirements, the more buyers. Same went for Doom 3 and Half Life 2 - on the lowest end cards, the game looked kinda washed out, but really shone on the best cards of 2004.

Crysis looks so crazy...if I do build a new PC with a Geforce 8800 GTS, I can run it on full settings without too much lag, but Tim Buckley's PC has dual 640 MB GTS's and he says his framerate sucks.

Aww there's ONE thing I don't meet on the minimum requirements...RAM

I'm quite surprised that SM3.0 isn't a minimum requirement given the high quality of the graphics. Applause for Crytek Studios.

If I remember correctly, Far Cry was a revolutionary and fairly demanding game back in its day too, but like Crysis, its minimum requirements weren't unfair at all.

Crap.....There's no way my crappy X1300 PRO can handle this game, X800 is like twice as good as it.

Wouldn't a X1300 be better then the 9800 though?

Only in XP. I don't know why it says the minimum is a 9800 in XP and an x800 for Vista! What the hell...

Does that mean it'll be better to play on XP?

Every game will run and play better on XP. That is the reason why every title has higher system requirements for vista user.

Better? Yes. More powerful? Probably not.

So my X800 (which I still need to actually put back in my computer) on XP should actually fair well enough to play. Sounds good to me. I may actually get it when the time comes.

Not to mention those are min requirements which means if you have those then you could only play at low. Kind of disappointing, since crysis on low looks like farcry on high (but now ultra high), and I can play at those settings fine.

I'm glad I meet those with flying colors.

Eh? I kept hearing that Crysis is basically a way for people to see what DX10 is capable of and nothing less, but now it seems that DX9 computers can play it? Even more remarkable is the fact that my laptop can almost play it. My drag factor is my GeForce Go 6150, lol. Can you say PWNT?
