'Ghost Hunters' Called into Air Force Base
The Air Force conducts some of its most advanced science (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/afrl/index.asp) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, outside of Dayton, Ohio. So you'd expect the place to be a hotbed of rationality -- immune to supernatural hocus-pocus. Instead, the base has called in The Atlantic Paranormal Society (http://www.the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/), from the SciFi Channel show Ghost Hunters, to investigate (http://www.wpafb.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123081947) long-standing reports of ghostly activity. According to a base press release:
Workers have reported phenomena which they cannot explain such as hearing footsteps, voices and seeing apparitions - specifically one of a little boy in building 219 and one of an older woman in building 70.
Carolyn Kugle, with the Air Force Materiel Command Logistics Support Office, who works in building 70 in Area C, has had some unexplained experiences in the building's warehouse and office. Recently she conducted her own informal investigation.
"It was very exciting when it [the experience] first happened to me. I've watched Ghost Hunters so much I knew to ask a question of it," she said. "I hope they find some evidence. I can't even describe the excitement. It's thrilling..."
TAPS arrival to Wright-Patterson marks the first Ghost Hunters investigation at an active military installation as well as the largest investigation they have performed.
I saw this in the army's news paper as I was walking out of HQ today and was like "wtf :confused:" and thought I'd find a digital article to share with you guys...
They do say they do some of their most adv science there...who knows, especially with the gov't...
