Im looking for a free alternative to Windows Movie Maker. I know I probably won't find something as good as Sony Vegas, but meh. I refuse to pay for SV. Anyways, I really need a program that can do overlays on videos. Like, I wanna be able to design a border in photoshop with an area cut out, and that cut out area is the only area that the movie can be seen through. Sorta like this intro found here. (http://www.livepvp.com/index.php?p=viewfiles&fileid=992)

Anyone have any programs?

EDIT: Someone move this to Tech please >__>

The free ones I've looked at haven't been worth the download. If you find one, let me know

Doesn't OSX come with a good movie maker? Find a library or school with one and work on it.

Oh, but even though demos are typically free, they almost always have time limits on them, so he'd be back to square one. ;)

So theres absolutely nothing free that can do the kind of editing I wanna do? :(

I really dont wanna pirate anything either. So that's out of the question.

Arg.

Pretty much all macs have a copy of iMovie on them. It's definitely one of the best realfree movie editors out there.

I never got iLife on any of my Macs, and they just came with iMovie right off the bat. Pre-installed and ready to go. Maybe paying for it is a new thing...

Bump. VirtualDub only allows logos over the video. It could work, but then Its still not enough for editing because it doesnt have the same features as WMM. So I'd have to do a lot of work in VDub then export over to WMM >_> But thanks for the link cause thats much better for compression.

I just want a damn video editing program where I can set an image to overlay over my whole video >_>

EDIT: Ya know what, this actually will work. I can simply create my image in photoshop and apply it to my video here and compress it at the same time. Might take a lil longer, but it will still make what im trying to do better. Thanks, +rep.

Double post, suck it.

http://files.filefront.com/Test+Vidwmv/;9736349;/fileinfo.html

Was able to make that in about 10 mins using Vdub and WMM. Was just a lil test vid, so now I can start making something better.
