You should change the color of the background to white or add lighting for some of those renders (mainly the ones that have skins on them). For the ones that i could see clearly, they look pretty decent.

Also, what is with the hole in the SL?

theres supposed to be like that switch there, and i thought it would be logical to have a flat area to change that switch in. I think its not too bad to have a lil variation from the original halo 3 (paint can argue with me about that but wth)

They look ok, the details in the magnum are extruded backwards to much. And the sniper rifle is getting there.

The assult rifle skin is to dark , it needs to be a more birghter tone of grey.

It wont when textures are on. And on the handle you have just extruded it backwards were the detail is, you need to bevel it a bit.

And people used to criticize that model of yours for the handle being too square.. :P

To OP, mostly too dark to see, and the pistol looks like a nerf gun.

Open both Spoiler tags and compare the two handles. If you ask me id say that my handle is more or less the same as bungies....

but i'll attempt again anyway. Get better renders with and without skins, as well as wireframes. so far all i see is some mediocre textures on some poor, inaccurate, models

I see no hinge on the handle of the spartan laser. The battle rifle's grip is very fat, that could be a problem. The assault rifle's display is a bit bloated too, and the magnum sort of looks like a redo.

well here is one render but no wireframes... it's all i can get for now.. because i have to go somewhere tonight.. but we'll keep ya updated.

and penguin, we are open to suggestions on our models.

It's a little squad, the grip is too round and it just needs some general tweekage overall. I don't moddle, but to me it looks like you should just use that and smooth the edges out. It looks fine when you look at it in a "2d" perspective, but when it's tilted it looks somewhat off.

we don't want pretty renders. we want to see a straight render of the gun showing both sides as well as a wireframe, you want suggestions give us the criteria to give them. right now all i can say is looks like crap. also uv map is terrible, doesn't even align with the gun.

It's hard to tell from that angle and the skin, but the model looks really... "unclean." It seems a bit deformed and ununiform in places where it should be, like the intrusions on the sides and the grip.

That is a wire frame yes, but it is usually better to do this technique:

1. Click all parts of your model.
2. Press Ctrl + V, and "Copy" the model (Do not un-select copies.)
3. Go to the modifier drop down box and look for "Push"
4. Put the settings to about 0.1 - 0.3
5. Open material editor, then go to an empty material slot and make it black, and check the "Wireframe" check box. (Not wireframe in the rendering details)
6. Then drag the wireframe material onto the selected objects, and select "apply to selection"

And then you have a good and easy to see wireframe.

why does the gas tube have a flash hider/muzzle brake?? the part below the barrel is supposed to be a capped cylinder, no bullets come out of that, so don't put a flash hider/muzzle brake on it :lmao:

Whats with the triangle bits? Not a single one of those points look like they line up (are the same height) Which would be needed to make them look right....

Things that i see that need to be fixed (taken from the render posted on the 21st):
1) That awkward face in this (http://h2vista.net/forums/showpost.php?p=232876&postcount=39)render. (located in the right)

2) The thing you pull at reload (I seriously can't remember the name right now D: ) has too many polies (mainly the sphere). It can easily be replaced by a lower res sphere.

3) Side too flat and has a non planar vertex.

4) The triangle part is still not properly aligned (it might be my vision or the angle).

The rest I cannot tell from the angle. Keep working on it.

but i was up late last night working on our spiker animations.. and so far i only have the Idle.. i'm still working on trying to get the Melee to work.:(

You should still be receptive to advice and crit however; as you claim to be responsible for fixing its problems. Speaking of which :

-Clip arrow at the bottom rear was done incorrectly - redo those faces
-Front grip doesn't look too comfotable
-There's a lot of generally "dirty" polies at the back, please fix those
-Geometry near the ammo counter is "dirty" as well

Laser anims need a full redo. I can tell just by the origin. The hud's shield meter has is too boldly outlined.

I'd say pretty good job on the models. If you take any of my advice, take it with a metric ton of salt (as I also am a noob).

The AR bitmap doesn't look like its from any of the games, FP model of the pistol just looks a bit bulky, the bitmap for the sniper looks like wrong (I would say contrasted/saturized, but I'm probably misusing that), and the Spartan Laser bitmap looks a bit fuzzy (low resolution).

Wait, so you're showing off a placeholder? Usually that something you do as a by product of showing something else (like a checkboard texture in a map), and not give it its own, separate picture.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

get more experience, then show your work. if you know your work is pretty low quality...or you don't have that much that even belongs to you...don't bother.

You shouldn't even think about showing stuff that's 'pre-alpha'. When you've actually finished something and think it's worthy of the communities critique (not something you know isn't decent), PM to unlock this thread.
