nice camera work and action scenes but it feels like the story moves to fast, also dialog could use a little work. but a good start.

Thanks, i can also defiantly say Episode 2 is slower, but has a strange 'jump' in it, which is explained, while Episode 3 is slower then the previous 2 ;)

Your title needs an apostrophe - Hyperions Vengeance sounds extremely dorky without the apostrophe. Al possessives have apostrophes, I would have thought you knew that. It needs to be "Hyperion's Vengeance".

Ok, there is one thing here that you did a fantastic job with, the exact thing I did horribly on when I attempted my first Halo 3 series (oh yeah, for those of you who don't know by now there won't be a Sierra 3 for a long...long time, at least until I can get some decent voice actors who know that the word Packard =/= Picard). What you aced was production value, the camera angles were smooth and had a variety (once again something I failed on, keeping the camera stationary) while your action wasn't too picky and specific to the point where it became hard to act out. The combat scenes were interesting to watch and didn't get drawn out too long. Something that I might recommend is this, there were a few scenes where you used a fade in to transition the two camera angles, I'm assuming thats because half of both of them were screwed up but together they enacted it out alright. In action scenes though fade is bad unless the camera is moving to a completely different time or area. If you want to retain flow I suggest you take another camera angle, possibly one of the enemy, cut that in, and then just move to the scene you were originally going to fade in. I had to do something similar when I was missing a particularly important shot of a guy turning his head, so I simply changed camera angles, and then moved to the scene where his head was facing the guy I needed him to. Didn't see his head turn but the viewer implied it. The editing was also good, mainly how you were able to edit the floor patters so that it looked like it was projecting the purple guy, rather than him just appearing.

However there is one thing I must complain about and I see this very often with action machinimas. They're so rapped up in the shooting that the story, if there even is one in some of them, barley has the time to flourish and to be honest thats what I'm seeing here. Slow down. Make the scenes longer, particularly the last one, I was confused for a second when they were all of a sudden back at the base. You said that you wanted to have a quick introduction of the characters and what not, thats your choice as a film maker. But my opinion as a critic is that in the first episode the last thing you want to do is jump in with little character background. If your going to make the character mystique or lack a past then make sure the present is thoroughly explained to the point the audience at least understands a reason for the conflict, not even the whole reason, but at least one. I guess the fact that they're rebels work but honestly, thats overused. Give them some backing. (If this is deliberately supposed to show itself in a later episode then ignore what I just said).

So basically keep up the production value, your good at it. Work on tightening up the plot and characters as well as not doing it as quickly. But hey, for your first series this is good, we both have (or in my case had) our share of problems, I just hope yours weren't as bad as mine and that you can keep going with this.

Good job.

Thanks for the awesome post there Flyboy.
I've been approached many times with the topic of 'my greatest flaw in this episode is speed' and i have worked this out in future episodes.

While you, and others, believe the first episode is to introduce characters, we learn about Collin and Logan (well at least through the first stop time talk right at the beginning) but the important thing is, is that we know about this Hologram thing they see (which is actually the Halo 1 Spartan Green screened in) and thats what this episode was about. I do now wish i made it have a bit more depth to the story in this episode, but that would have been almost 'stupid' when people see episode 2.

We recently began episode 3, which is basically all action then at the end an extremely deep and important story development happens which will lead the characters on the path for the rest of the series.

On a note about 'The Hologram' I've also heard it was 'difficult' to here him, well other then fixing his voice up for Episode 3, I'm going to start subtitling him, just like i did the 'Elite' in 'The Light of the Burning Sun' which is in the Consequences Universe, but not related in time or character wise from what we see in the episodes  lol.

Anyway, thanks again, and i hope you look out for Episode 2 which will be released next Friday/Saturday.
PS: I'll be continuing this up until the last episode, even if i have no viewers lol.
