I'm not usually the one to be inspired by anything (hell, to be honest I have never had any heroes and before a few hours ago I had accepted that I was doomed to not be able to go to a good college) but I just saw this video here (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5700431505846055184) and have to admit that I'm actually hopeful now that with enough work I can fix my past mistakes. To be completely open here, this is the first time I have ever felt any kind of hope like this in my entire life and I just wanted to share the video with you guys in the hope that someone else might also find it useful. Yes, it's an hour and 45 minutes long but it's worth watching every second of it. Here is quick description of the video:

I had several specific childhood dreams, and I've actually achieved most of them. More importantly, I have found ways, in particular the creation (with Don Marinelli), of CMU's Entertainment Technology Center (etc.cmu.edu (http://etc.cmu.edu/)), of helping many young people actually *achieve* their childhood dreams. This talk will discuss how I achieved my childhood dreams (being in zero gravity, designing theme park rides for Disney, and a few others), and will contain realistic advice on how *you* can live your life so that you can make your childhood dreams come true, too
