Whats the average Gas price in your area? For me in Central Florida its about $3.31 for regular unleaded, I can knock that down to $3.25 with either my store's discount or if I go to my local Sam's and use my membership, still its costing me around $55 to fill up my car and that can last anywhere from a week to two weeks, depending on how much I drive and how I am driving. The most I've seen it around here is $3.51 for regular and $3.75 for premium.

I'm certain that by Summer I'll be seeing at least $4 a gallon, since it jumped from about $2.90 to $3.30 here in a day its certainly possible.

What about all of you?

About 3.25ish. It's been going up and down a lot here lately. I'm not exactly sure we'll be seeing 4 dollars a gallon by summer as demand goes down a wee bit, but I'm very confident it will be 4 dollars by winter.

Too fucking expensive. $1.50/l or more for premium, 10c off that for unleaded. Don't even bother asking about fucking diesel. Even LPG is up past 70c/l.

Oh yeah, I remember pre-war gas prices were about 1.4 USD at the stations and less than a dollar at places like Sams Club. First time I ever filled up my car (about five/six years ago) it cost 18 dollars.

I remember when my mom complained it cost her $20 bucks to fill up her Jetta, if I could fill up my car for $20 bucks I'd probably have an orgasm...

Correct. The high gas prices in Germany are made out of several things like...Mieralölsteuer...which are the high taxes for fuel + the current laughable exchange rate between $ and Euro + liter to gallon conversion.

Germany is a country with a special social system anyway, so paying high gas taxes becomes favorable in other areas. For example, if you DONT work in Germany because you can't find work are incapable or whatever, you get around $1500 per MONTH + $400 for each child and you don't have to pay for health care etc.

Catch is that 51% of your income go directly as taxes to the state and you finance the people that don't work. :D

I don't want to drift off-topic though...I just don't want to give Germany a bad image by saying that their gas prices are around 12$ :p

Weather is pretty lame, yes. The people are rather friendly though, but it seems like the majority of the older germans are just too serious at times. The english language isn't too pretty itself ;p
