I just turned the forums on after upgrading to vB 4.1.3 (from 4.0.2) and spending several hours fixing things. There are still some issues, but the forum seems to be functional so I'm turning it back on. Please report any issues in this thread. I will continue to fix things up throughout the week. Thanks!
Let me start by saying that I am committed to keeping this site up and running.
That being said, the money from donations coming in is no longer enough to support the Virtual Private Server plan we are currently on. Too much is starting to come out of my own pocket for it to be worth paying for. However, I am considering downgrading the plan for this website to the shared hosting plan which we were on several years ago. This would cost less money, but it means the site would probably be a bit more sluggish. This would probably take place within the next week. (It is possible that upgrading to the newest version of vBulletin could introduce some speedups, so I am considering this as well, but this would almost certainly mean losing our custom theme.)
I greatly appreciate everyone who has made a donation to this site, and most recently the handful of people who have donated since the new year: TeeKup, BobtheGreatII, Llama Juice, and Phobias.
Please refer to the short donations FAQ for anyone who would like to make a contribution. Every donation helps!
Hi everybody! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.
I am posting today to ask for donations to help keep the site alive. As many of you know, this site is maintained by the volunteer time of a handful of staff. It is also greatly supported by all of you, who have made very generous contributions in the past, so that I do not have to dig too deeply into my own pocket. At this time the PayPal account which pays for the site has once again dried up.
If any of you has a few bucks left over from the holidays, I would greatly appreciate if you would make any size donation to the site. Every bit helps. I have set up a short donations FAQ for anyone who would like to make a contribution.
Thank you everyone, and once again I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday!
Well folks, as promised with a small delay, our blogs are now live! Please take the time to read over the Guidelines to know what to post, and the Blog FAQ to know how to post before posting to it.
Just a heads up, people: I'm headed out on a roadtrip to Florida for some business and will be gone for about a week. That said, anything I've been working on (namely, blogs, skin, etc) will be on hold until I get back, and don't look for me if there's an issue that needs dealing with.
The trip itself is nonstop, so unfortunately there will be little-to-no meeting people or vlogs a la another one of our members. Maybe some other time.
So we've had these blogs for months, and we have yet to set any ground rules for them. As such, there's a lot of crap and test posts in them. Within the next two weeks, I plan on setting ground rules for the blogs and cleaning them up, deleting any posts that will not fall within the guidelines to be set. That said, our blogs are now turned off until this is done. Brb.
Just thought I'd put this up here that Modacity only supports Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5+, and Google Chrome. If you're running an outdated browser or something different, update or get a supported browser.
Nobody's really been complaining, but lately while I've been working on the site during downtime while at school, the site is ugly as sin. The school's computers are mostly outfitted with Firefox 2.0 and IE7 (with the exceptions of the ones in the Web Development/Programming
As far as I can tell, the H2A crap is redone using the H4 engine, but there has been some talk of it being an early version of what they're using for H5 (but that just sounds like added technical and...
