Gameport support in windows 7 64bit?

Has anyone successfully gotten gameport based controllers (race wheels, gamepads, etc) to work in windows 7 64 bit?

I downloaded drivers that enables the game port, a pack that enables them in vista 32 bit (problem is that maybe, but the drivers installed successfully) then since the control panel item didnt appear I manually opened the .cpl file for it and then added a custom controller (one that fits the description of my racing wheel) but it doesn't detect the racing wheel, I'm going to go try the joystick i have (which works with the gameport to usb adaptor, my racing wheel does not though!)

Are you sure? X64 doesn't allow unsigned drivers to be installed unless you start it in a different mode (F8 where SafeMode it at, something with "Disable Driver Enforced Signing"). Try that.

I did, no luck whatsoever.
Also, it doesnt work via USB.
