  1. Sticky: Re: Building a computer? Need advice/suggestions? Come here!

Alright folks, I need a bit of advice/suggestions. I just inherited a 4-year-old notebook computer from my Dad. It's a Toshiba Satellite A110.

Intel Celeron M 1.46GHz single core
    512mb DDR2...

Re: Car Stereo: What should I get?

Pioneer is probably the biggest name for car audio head units. Having said that, I rock an Alpine mp3-cd unit in my truck and it works absolutely flawlessly (only 15w x 4 speakers but if you need...

Re: Did someone say Duke Nukem: Forever?

I seem to recall Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project having an Ego system for health as well. Get shot, ego goes down. Kill enemies, ego goes back up. It wasn't quite as in-depth as this, though.

    Man,...

    Re: Mafia 2

That's bothering me, beele; I feel like a system with an i7, 5800 series and a dedicated PhysX GPU should do better than that... the high PhysX really kicks the crap out of the hardware, eh?

    I'm...

Re: Bungie working on ps3 game

    Amen to that!

    It'll never happen.

I'd be glad to be proven wrong on my previous statement.
  6. Sticky: Re: Post your PC pics

I've seen prices on decent new speakers and they're WAY expensive. A better way to get bigger sound is to look through pawn shops and at yard sales. I got my loudspeakers for $60 apiece used locally....
  7. Sticky: Re: Post your PC pics

Nice looking receiver! It's always nice to know you've got some sheer awesome power supplying your sound system. Now I want to clean up my room and make it that nice.

As someone who has recently found three boxes of records in the basement, I have been using Audacity for this same purpose. I have not run into any problems with audio tags, however.

    Re: Three Screen Xbox 360

I don't know if it is the same on 360, but Baja: Edge of Control on PS3 has an option for Panorama mode, and it's the same thing; three PS3s, three screens, and three copies of the game are required....

    Re: League of Legends

A group of my friends wants me to play this with them. I'm not sure it's my type of game, though. They likened it to one of those Starcraft Use Map Settings maps I've played where you get to be a...

No one said a hand brake slide was reliable.

Can't disagree with that, though my experience is mostly restricted to fishtailing.

    Re: Driving

Oh, I know it's possible. My one friend has a 1967 Chevrolet Beaumont station wagon with a 3-speed automatic in it; he used to do tons of hand-brake turns in that boat. My point is that I wasn't...

Re: Old classic games that need to be revived.

I suppose so but then again NFS6 was Hot Pursuit 2 so one could say NFS3 has already been revived. Then again, no NFS game released since NFS3 has captured my interest and enthusiasm near as much.

Oh hell yes! I still have the disk for NFS 3 and NFS 4 in my drawer next to me. Now you've mentioned those I feel a sudden urge to play them.

    Re: Driving

Aww, I've never driven a vehicle where I could pull off a handbrake turn (drove a 1995 Civic automatic actually, but it was the driving school's :) ). Also, even if your engine's a bit worn and isn't...

I know this's about a week late, but I haven't played Killing Floor in a fair long time because my friends that have it won't play it any more. You guys planning another game night?

  20. Sticky: Re: Post your PC pics

In this case, that's the only outside wall that isn't finished in this room and there is a plastic coating in front of it (you can see it in the pic if you look closely). Thanks for your concern...
  21. Sticky: Re: Building a computer? Need advice/suggestions? Come here!

Lately, I've been thinking about getting a dedicated sound card. This RealTek onboard chipset is okay, but I'd prefer something that's GREAT or AWESOME. So, I have a few questions.

    1.) Is EAX in...

    Re: Driving

The clutch is a lot like a brake lining, but in many cases much tougher. It is very unlikely you could wear it badly with a few practise sessions. Only thing I worry about (and not that much) is...

  25. Sticky: Re: Post your PC pics

I could go for a 32" HDMI screen... my 22" HDMI monitor really isn't great for having a bunch of friends over to game and watch movies on.
