Re: Dual Titan Z Card released

AMD is alleging that, because it's an NVIDIA GameWorks game, that it is neutered for their cards. NVIDIA, of course, has made some counter-arguments -- like devs get source code access upon request...

Btw, they never fixed the editor such that the tutorial map was physically possible to make, did they?

    Re: VR Thread

Steam has done things to scan what's on your computer, too. Specifically, Valve Anti-Cheat (VAC) did.

Also, speaking of Valve and Oculus, Michael Abrash is now working at Oculus. I have yet to see...

Re: Russia prepares to attack Ukraine

Actually, that's not similar at all.

A much better example is Georgia v. Russia and South Ossetia.

Re: Russia prepares to attack Ukraine

And then you have the leader of Crimea, an autonomous republic, asking Russia for help (not to mention Crimea is quite pro-Russia and is mostly composed of ethnic Russians). Ukraine is claiming that...
  9. Re: NVIDIA G-sync and AMD "FreeSync" - Variable Framerate Monitors

Well if you are going to go on "what if" scenarios then it gets much more complicated than that. AMD did not want to purchase ATI. AMD was in talks to merge with NVIDIA. The deal was far along except...
  10. Re: NVIDIA G-sync and AMD "FreeSync" - Variable Framerate Monitors

That's not even accurate at all. The fixed-but-still-strawman quote is:

"We're not paying you for supporting our products... but here's a library that does exactly what you want."

    Yes, it is...
  11. Re: NVIDIA G-sync and AMD "FreeSync" - Variable Framerate Monitors

You have no idea what you're talking about.

NVIDIA does not pay companies to make software run better on their hardware.

    They donate engineers.

    Re: Perpetual Motion Engine

This is really not the stage to be concerned about performance. The advantage is flexibility. If I gain any performance (chances are) it will be through skipping irrelevant steps, choosing a more...

Yep. It is almost entirely Javascript. Think of it this way... imagine a software rendering engine programmed in Javascript.

    Re: Perpetual Motion Engine

Yeah, Artillery Games is pretty cool but they're not the only ones doing this stuff (they're an early adopter, for sure, though).

Well... Halowars pulled off Halowars pretty well on a gamepad. That does not necessarily hold true for RTS in general.

  22. Re: Valve's 3-Part Reveal for PC Gaming in the living room
