Whoa, that sounds ambitious, but definitely awesome. If this actually goes through I might actually want to jump in on the EvE universe.
It's kind of confusing, though. If console players can participate in battles for planets, does that mean that PS3 and X360 players can battle against each other, and even as a team? It seems to be the only real option to make everything in the real-time universe run smoothly. But console limitations seem to make this idea go to shit. Another thing I'm wondering is that would you have to join a corporation? You're only a foot-soldier, after all.

The fact that it's an FPS/RTS isn't impressive at all, we've that since Battlezone in 1998, and I have yet to see someone do it as well as Activision did with that game (and Pandemic with its sequel). Everyone is trying to incorporate clunky control systems for the RTS portion and they always have it cut and dry between the FPS and RTS segments instead of seemlessly integrating them.
What does impress me about this is the integration into the PC MMO...that is cool.
