The heat is generated by electricity passing through it...with a card that draws too much power for the laptop you are both A.) generating excess heat and B.) drawing more current than the specs say are tolerable.
You don't need to much current to fry something... just too much heat. This component won't fraw too much power though. I'm just worried about too much heat.
Bottom line is that it will blow something, regardless of whether it got too hot or had too much current flowing through it (which makes that isolated component get too hot). You are separating it into two separate problems when it really isn't.
No it won't blow anything. Another model of my laptop COMES with the card. I already said this.
Just because its another model, doesnt mean it will work with it.
Its entirely possible other parts are different so it wouldn't work properly.

Sweet Jesus, you are not comprehending. I'm not talking about your specific laptop, and have never been. I'm talking about in general, if something doesn't meet the TDP, it runs the risk of being too hot or drawing too much power...which both result in a transistor or capacitor being blown and thus a fried part.

Fake E: By the way, an already rare MXM HD5800 probably doesn't meet your TDP...and MXM HD5600s are even harder to find.
EX, are you sure that the HD 5650 in that notebook is removable and not permanently attached to the PCI-E port? That might actually be the case, meaning you won't be able to get one.
Protip: Different models of the same notebook may also have different motherboards.
