Guys I was thinking, maybe all we need to get this game to rise again is a simple Xlinkai/Xbslink client for it, that besides running the application it can patch in real time several quirks the game has like vehicle sight acceleration issues, patch the XboxLive part and use the LAN to show custom game servers.
Also some of us actually want to keep playing this game, so if we could invalidate the whole CD-key issue id be great too.
We've (H2MT) been working towards a more custom and open release of H2PC. At a minimum it would include many additional custom maps and an enhanced version of the modified D3D9.DLL exploit which allows a user to play on maps with restricted custom content. A modified Main Menu to allow an alternate way of loading restricted custom maps. It would also include approved mods and real-time tools (such as Ambiguous) that could potentially sync with a central server(s) to allow mods such as sky modifications visible to all players. It could also include some custom campaign maps, though that depends on a few other factors right now.
The main channel of distribution would be by .torrent file.
The server list and product activation are the main hurdles but those are being looked over as well.
While I would like to see this project reach completion I also question its value in regards to so few players as of late. If we can easily get around the server list/LAN/Live issues then I will see more effort put into into it.

Imo sounds good, but really I know this isn't the place to discuss what I want to say.
the release should be a halo 2 portable (no buggy xlive or installer)with included hax's that simply fix the gameplay issues with keyboard/mouse and have a custom game browser
This would be like the halo 1 portable editions that are VERY popular now a days, and maybe we can get back to actually playing good games of halo 2.
