An interesting historical fact about pirates; they were one of the first groups to fight against slavery and to abolish it amongst their ranks. They would free slaves and kill their slavers.
Withholding knowledge from a man due to his financial standing is just another form of slavery, a class system where the rich and/or otherwise powerful dictate the knowledge the poor are allowed to learn about.
Thus pirates are progressive thinkers. Naturally they were labeled terrorists and to this day the title pirate is normally equated to a negative. TMYK, SSDD
