    Problems with 3ds Max 9.

In following some tutorials for making maps for Halo 2, most ask you to convert the box to and editable poly, then flip it. I can do that, but when I do the box is all black, and I can't seen inside, where the map is supposed to be. Does anyone know why that happens? If needed Ill post pics...

Right click your object, and hit "Object Properties". Then check "Backface cull".

It's annoying, yes, but that will make it so you cannot see "backfaces", and you will be able to see "inside" your box.

I'm not sure, actually. If anyone has a way, that'd be awesome.

Yes, because from what I see in the video tutorial Im watching, it does it automatically for him.

Also, what can I place using Saipen? Can I place Bases? (Like those in Coag, or the like?)

No, bases must be modeled. Plus stop following that tutorial. Now.

Go learn to model properly. And I think its a preference or something.

I know... but I got the program from a friend who couldn't use it. So I have it for free, I wont argue with it. So if somebody would hurry in making a .ass exporter, that would be wonderful.
