So I went to the iron skull... and I walked over it, meleed it, shot it... nothing popped up... so I figured maybe it'll give me that achievement at the end of the level... nope... nothing... what am I doing wrong?

Just pick it up.
Yea... nothing showed up...
It doesn't show an icon to pick up skulls anymore. Just right bumper and it'll come up.
