I halo2 and Halo 2 Map Editor
you said that was not the tag halo 2 ?
bleh... there all just angry because you want to call the map z-Révolte or what ever. (They don't want you pretending to be part of the z map team, or they don't want the map to be called z-Révolte when z team didn't do anything, or didn't want you using there stuff) Which is funny because instead of whining about wanting credit, now there whining that they don't want there name to be put on the map, which is just a complete paradox when compared to what most people end up complaining about when there stuff gets stolen :o)
To be honest, I like this guy, I don't care if hes taking stuff with out permission, mainly because hes doing so with a good cause (good map and good bsp that was custom made, hes proving himself that much) complimenting good weapons and tags that were made by the community. The very reason open sourcing has its benefits, it lets the community collaborate better when it comes to making maps.
The reason I like this guy, hes just going around all the bullcrap boundaries that hinder good maps from being made with out a care in the world for what we think, but at the same time hasn't really done anything wrong.
Hes making a map, and its most likely going to be good... so in the end it doesn't matter how or where he got the tags, as long as theres credit, which he is gladly giving to the creators.

We never have "whined" about our name being put on the map, in fact we have not whined at all. We were complaining about our tags getting ripped out of our maps. If we wanted them to be out in the public...we would open source the maps. It's our choice whether to give out the tags, not anyone else's choice.
Oh so stealing tags from other community members makes a person all glorified in your eyes? It's so sad that you actually believe that.
Yes he has done something wrong, taken tags out of our maps without our permission. The maps are protected for a reason and a person should respect that. I hardly think of map protection as "bullcrap boundaries", just a way to keep our tags from going into shitty maps, which is exactly what would happen. We were all for letting him use our tags and populating the map for him, but then he got impatient, ripped our tags, and in doing so ruined it for himself.
It does matter because ripped tags out of a protected map is disrespectful to the map creators because they obviously don't want their content getting out there.
From whom, again? Those are Microsoft's tags. They were Microsoft's tags from the moment Tool spit them out or you clicked File > New and then File > Save in Guerilla or Kornman. Read the EULA.
If people didn't want their content getting out there, they wouldn't release the content in the first place. Once you put something out into a map cache file and distribute it, anyone with the know-how can and will rip from it if they have the desire, knowledge, and tools.
The Halo community is the only modding community I have ever seen with this problem. Wake up people: you don't own shit, end of story. That is something you must accept if you're going to use the HEK and Bungie's engine/data structure. If you don't want people getting your stuff, then don't freaking release it.
Any further discussion of pro/anti-ripping in this thread will result in some infractions. Knock off the drama.![]()
